40 years since we beat Liverpool 2-0 and Hudson was a genius and we nearly won the league. We won the title decider but not the title.

Stan Bowles alluded to exactly your notion in his biography, describing QPR and Stoke in the mid 70s as having a 'Corinthian attitude'.
