Not sure on other's views, hence the thread but are any of you a little nervous about the prospect of a Odemwingie back with now having lost a yard of pace? Granted he is a top top player, but he isnt exactly getting any younger.
I am just considering whats happened to ringtone and ever since that horror tackle against Wolves, after which he was never the same. I really hope not!!
Keen as mustard to see him back again.

Was it a horror tackle?? My recollection of the incident was that it was a torn hamstring with no one to blame. As for Odemwingie, I have my doubts we will see him play for Stoke again.

Ethers was more a back related injury though!

I suppose he has to resign a contract at Stoke before any other speculation?

Good point, couldnt quite remember the actual incident, but still basically career ending for ethers . Has anyone of Odemwingies quality and age come back the same player or better after an ACL? Tying to think but cant really think of any ACLs. Oh well as already said, fingers crossed!

If he loses a yard of pace we could play him centrally if nothing else, he is an excellent finisher and always in the right place. He will play for Stoke again, he will score for Stoke again

I don't remember it being a horror tackle either. I thought he stretched trying to keep a ball in and jarred it, damaging the cruciate? I was there, and I don't remember screaming blue murder....

He turned our season around last year. But even if he does come back, it is only going to be for a season or so. Is that long enough for him to regain his form, at his age?

Great player for me there's a lot more to his game than pace. He's a very clever player like Ireland and Bojan.

Worth having his skill and vision in the team, let's just wait and see if he has lost much if any of his pace; Stan was still quick off the mark at 45 but it was stamina that he lost, more than anything.

I suppose he has to resign a contract at Stoke before any other speculation? He doesn't have to sign a new contract to play this season - which is what he hopes to be able to do. If he doesn't manage to play a few games this season, then I would expect we'd offer him (at best) a monthly contract until he proves his form and fitness.

I've no idea. But I did hear Mark Hughes say it was quite possible when he was interviewed last week and I would assume he based his comments on medical reports.

People seem to miss remember the Etherington injury because of the Wolves fans reaction, there was no tackle.

People seem to miss remember the Etherington injury because of the Wolves fans reaction, there was no tackle. That's right. The scumbags were goading him about not playing at Wembley as he was taken past them. Sent from my GT-I8190N using proboards

Wasn't really a torn hamstring. Simply extended his leg to keep the ball in then landed on it awkwardly didn't he?
