Blimey Harry I remember that game now, Blackpool had a cracking player at the time who I think was called John Green. My first visit to the Vic was for Sir Stans testimonial, been hooked ever since. I remember a game where David Herd scored in front of the Boothen when the ball went in off his derriere a la Soulemine Oulare style, still didn't stop him celebrating as if he had scored a worldy, happy times. It was Tony Green I remember him getting a goal of the season one year. Finished at 25 after bad injury. I remember him was he about 5 ft tall

My first game was Man Utd at home 1983 when I was 8. It was a night match. I can still remember parking up and walking to the ground seeing the flood lights on for the first time. I was sat in the Butler Street stand close to the Boothen waving to my brother who has stood behind the goal. We won one nil. It was fantastic.

Afraid I cannot remember my first game - would be around 1963 and on intermittent occasions through the sixties I would go with my Dad - always standing in the Boothen Paddock.
Started going to every home match in August 1969 (aged 14) and for some reason always remember the match against Man City which I think was held at the end of September. Lovely sunny day and I think we won 2-0.

2nd Nov 1964 at home vs Burnley I was ten years old. We were trouncing them 3-0 at half time then at start of second half Eddy Clamp stuck the nut on their winger John Connelly and got sent off, well actually he walked off before the ref could run over to the carnage. That spurned Burnley into a comeback and the game ended 4-4 after Tony Allen had scored an own goal for their equaliser. Strange thing was our next home game vs Sheff Wed ended in a similar fashion after leading 3-1 at half time they hit back for another 4-4 draw. Happy days indeed and half a crown, or 12.5p, admission for youngsters in the Boothen. Can still smell the aroma of tobacco and pies now. Yep, was at that game......... we talked about Clampy getting sent off for years and YEARS afterwards! My first game was at the start of the season in 1961, although I can't remember who we were playing, and ever since that first day the club have had a permanent place in my heart. Stoke City...... STOKE CITY. LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT.

26 September 1970 Stoke V Arsenal
We won five nil and unsurprisingly I was hooked and have hardly missed a home game since.
