Unexpected signing imminent I did tell you all last night TS was trying to lure Jesus Navas to our club on loan, no bullshitting here. If only. Great player.

There's at least four websites now saying all the same thing , that being he wants to stay and has ruled out a move to Stoke. I don't know if our local radio station has reported much on the events of the last few weeks , but Ive certainly not heard much . Anyone else shed any light on Radio Stokes reporting of the events ? Interest mumf , hope he has good luck with that , once a club has excepted an offer its finished , he's not in their plans whether he likes it or not , players that come out and say they want to "fight for their place" once an offer had been accepted are very rarely still at the club in the coming months ! Not saying he will end up at stoke but don't think he will be with inter either ! The fact he is training with the reserves on this pre season tour, would suggest Mancini is pushing him towards an exit. Inter have over 25 players in there squad but have to name 25 to play, so he will move if he is told he won't even be able to play.

I know it's only Football Manager but I vaguely remember managing AC Milan once and you could register 99 players (basically, no 25 man squad rule) that, only applies to European competition to which Inter Milan aren't involved in next season. The only rule they have in Italy as far as I am aware is you can only sign 2 non EU players each season (which Inter have already done)
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Marc,
When is Hughes scheduled to meet with Shaqiri? It seems like it will need to be soon if Wednesday is still deadline day.

If you think he doesn't want to play then where will his commitment be ? on the bench after 6games I say and paid loads of money. No I will live in my Stoke dream world lets get players like bojan who openly is loving the club and he would have been our player of the season if he did not get injured and is bringing in more Spanish interest and not demanding more money and not taking the biscuit of interest from Liverpool. Come on man wake up. Bojan used to dream of playing for Stoke I agree with that one pal

Don't be daft he wants to be here now, that's what I am saying ambitions come with success at a club you give yor heart to

Arnie never has or will be as highly rated as shaqiri. Bojan star status had well and truly died following failed stints at several clubs in several countries. Players like shaqiri, Kono and roberto especially are a cut above Stoke City at the moment and if we achieve to get 1 or more of these 3 then we have massively over achieved and sirs Hughes, Scholes and Cartwright will deserve all the credit they get along with Coates who we are lucky to have who is willing to spend the cash to get them here. I'm really at a loss as towards the last paragraph, Hughes a massive yes, as for Scholes & Cartwright based on exactly what do you base the statement on. Hughes identities his preferred choices, we (allegedly) speak to their clubs and the players representatives (allegedly) put an offer forward and ......err nothing... It's a PR stunt everyday of the week. The 'we' part of your speaking to clubs and players reps is scholes job. Who do you think does it the groundsman? Whilst MH will identify his players no deal can be completed without scholes agreeing a deal with both club and player, therefore he is just as instrumental if not more so than MH to get the deal completed. I'll agree I'm not sure what Cartwright does exactly but he seems to be part of the team that identify and use there network to support us in completing deals.

Training with the reserves?! this seems to suggest he is training with the rest of the squad and whilst scoring a wonder goal, fans watching sang "tienilo Mancio!" which means "keep it Mancini" in reference to Shaqiri. You can have fun translating the link yourselves.. Inter Training

Serie A Squad RulesAlso this suggests the 25 man squad rule doesn't kick in until 2016. Edit, which could mean 2015-16 season, I'm unsure.

It's laughable we'd spend the reported 12 million, never in 12 million years in fact.
Peeing in the wrong sums it up well.

I have no idea, none whatsoever.
If Stoke were serious about a player/target his name wouldn't be splashed on here weeks before he signed.
Trying to force the preferred targets to sign, deflecting competition away from preferred targets I have no idea.

Will that do?

That's done mainly by agents and the selling club trying to get more interest in the player they selling

We look a bit silly if both of our high profile targets turn us down don't we? Where do we go after Shaqiri joins somebody else?
Wherever it is, can we just please do the deal IN PRIVATE!

Arsenal, Man U, Man City, Liverpool and Spurs don't ALWAYS get the targets with whom they are linked and I don't suppose they worry about looking silly. You win a few, you lose many. Chelsea haven't actually clinched Bego's move YET!
