Indeed it is, we had Carl Muggleton in the nets really. I do love Stoke fans. We had Derek Parkin in the nets once. Whoooooooooooooooo?

We had Derek Parkin in the nets once. Whoooooooooooooooo? You youngsters! Full-Back. Wolves record appearance holder. Joined Stoke in 1982 at the fag-end of his career. Played in the legendary 4-4 draw against Luton. Foxy got sent off. Bracewell took over between the sticks, but at half-time was replaced by Parkin. Think the score at half-time was 1-2. Can't remember anything else about his time at Stoke.

Mancini has told shakiri to stop fighting and sign for stoke. Really? Where you hear that? Its been widely reported in various European media in the past few days and the Sun have now picked up on it - presumably by reading one of the foreign reports - I doubt that have any new information.

Its been widely reported in various European media in the past few days and the Sun have now picked up on it - presumably by reading one of the foreign reports - I doubt that have any new information. That seems to be the case of most of the transfer "news" in the media; one papers brings a story, and the others quote it - perhaps with a bit of twist on the story to, so that it doesn't look like a copy & paste job.

Didn't Derek Parkin have his leg broken in a tackle in front of the Boothen. Think it may have finished his career as I don't remember him playing again.

"Stoke might still fancy Shaqiri, a genuine headline summer signing were it to come off, but do they really want somebody so patently reluctant to take what he clearly considers a step down in his career?" Yes please. I'm sure this point has been made elsewhere but you would have to think that moving to SCFC could be, potentially, a very good move for him. Coming in as a "Rock the city" signing, adulation from the fans, putting yourself on show in the best league in the world and (not withstanding injury) a shoe in to play week in week out.
If the alternative is to reside on the bench (or worse, in the stands) or keep your fingers crossed for another team to come in, this seems risky and could be a career mistake.
I'm sure it is a case of "Stoke who?" but the lad could do a lot worse.

He's been left out of their squad again for the next game.
I still have a gut feeling he will be joining us.
Come on Xherdan!

Didn't Mancini tell him that at the start of this whole bloody saga too?
Hopefully he'll listen soon enough.

As I have said before, Mancini is a stubborn geezer, once he makes up his mind on a player there is no changing it. Look at the legion he banished to the bench during his Man City tenure. Left a lot of talent rotting on the bench that hardly got a look in. Shaq is leaving just a question of where he is off to ....

Looks like he wants to go to anybody bar us.See what this lot offers for him. Dortmund has informed the tabloid of the Westfalen outfit’s interest in Internazionale’s Swiss attacking midfielder, Xherdan Shaqiri. The story goes that the Dortmunder and the 23-year-old already have agreed personal terms, but what is holding the deal up is the insistence of new ‘Schwarz-Gelben’ coach, Thomas Tuchel, that the arrival be offset by a first team squad departure. One possibility for the chop could be German U21 midfielder, Moritz Leitner, who recently returned to the Ruhr following a rather disappointing two-year loan stint at Stuttgart; another is Polish right-winger, ‘Kuba’ Blaszczykowski, too often injured in the last couple of seasons. Courted this summer by Schalke and various Premier League sides, Shaqiri very much finds himself at a career crossroads, desperately needing to reassert his headlining credentials after three years as a bit-part player at Bayern Munich and a disastrous time at Inter, whom he joined to great fanfare in January, only to quickly fizzle out.
