Fantastic news! Well done Stoke and more importantly well done Mark Hughes. You've done us proud since you came and took over. I have every faith in you continuing the great job you and your staff have started. And with the 15 million or so you're gonna spend I reckon it win't be so long before we are at Wembley again.

To strengthen the squad... It is all relative though. Was the squad not strengthened last summer. You can't rely on freebies and waifs and strays every season and hope to keep progressing though. We don't have to break the bank, but we'll need to spend some money to address the weak areas in the squad adequately, in all likelihood.

At least I can now go to see Cinderella tonight (She, who must be obeyed, insists we go) with a smile on my face.

From someone who wasn't impressed with Leslie's initial appointment i have to say i'm now absolutely delighted he's signed a new contract until 2019.Stability and progression is the key for me and investment must surely follow now?

I would hope/imagine that we have our sights set higher than players like Borini mate but then again i thought that about Odemwingie when he signed Borini is a hard working striker who runs his heart out and never gives anything less than 100%. If Rodgers would have put him with another striker up front he would have excelled at Liverpool. Instead BR shoved him in his doghouse. I think he would do great here. I think his personality would fit perfectly here. And I think we could get him relatively cheap.

The most important members of any football club are the manager, followed closely by the chairman. The news of Mark Hughes signing a new contract is tremendous. In Messrs Hughes and Coates we have a great partnership. I think that the next three seasons under their guidance, will bring at least one trophy to our great club.

I hope the delay was Hughes insisting that the Coates family back him financialy, as theyve bagged an absolute gem in LMH.
C'mon Stoke.

Excellent news. Can't really fault him so far. This summer has some big decision making for him to do because there are a lot of players with question marks over their status one way or another.
Begovic, Cameron and Adam look like being reasonable bets for departure, and if a bigger side came in for N'Zonzi you could see him going.
A judgement on the physical condition of Huth has to be made. Do we sign Wollscheid and if so do we go for another CB as well if Huth is off?
Can we sign Moses, how much do we gamble on Odemwingie's fitness and how much does Hughes believe in Arnie? Where will Diouf end up playing long term?
