5 wins out of 5 and top of the group, I don't think he will loose any sleep over this thread. In a below average group. Much credit for the away victory in Switzerland, as a few had that done as a point gained would be decent enough, however, Hodgson is achieving what many thought should happen anyhow. The real tests begin against superior opposition. Im still sceptical about all of that, and as such struggle to feel support towards a man who I feel has severe limitations within a job that could have endless boundaries considering the pool of talent he could choose from. What other better English managers are around to take the England job?. I'm not knocking one out over Woy, but a lot of the better teams of Europe are struggling in groups as weak as ours ,I'm just not in hate Hodgson group because he doesn't pick Shawcross. We are looking good from Midfield to attack, if we can get the defense sorted we will have a good chance in the Euros.

But we can't face Italy expecting to win. Italy handle adversity. Before 2006 it was chaos for them.

They were dog shit at the WC and we still couldn't beat them. Tomorrows game is the biggest waste of time since a Pulis lead Stoke away game at Chelsea.

Big bag of whoooooooooooooooooooooooo? Embarrassing if we don't beat that team tomorrow. Really? It's that kind of arrogance that's seen us win nothing in 50 years. Just because you haven't heard of them doesn't mean it will be easy. We will have to play well.

OK,we are doing well in our qualifying group,we usually do,it is when we get to the finals we fail miserably.

Seriously what would have been the point in bringing Ryan on in Fridays game? None but Hodgson openly said that tonight's game was about experimenting with players. Jones, Smalling, Cahill or Jagielka at central defence. Ryan could of at least been given another chance for his national side. Tonight would of been an ideal test.

Friday would have been better to experiment than this.

Can understand why Ryan wasn't in the squad this time, he's been out injured for weeks and doesn't look right now.
He absolutely should've had chances long before now though and it's bewildering and depressing that he hasn't.

Just to put things in perspective regarding the last 7 games, all victories.................. In no particular order, Norway ranked 70th, Scotland ranked 39th, Estonia ranked 87th, Lithuania ranked 94th, Slovenia ranked 48th and San Marino ranked 181st hardly gives any reasosn for hope. The little glimmer of optimism was beating Switzerland who are ranked above england in 12th. I fear another embarrassment awaits England next year.Thankfully Greg Dyke and the FA have learned from the fiasco of giving Capello a two year extension before the 2010 World Cup as Hodgson has been told his contract will not be considered for renewal until after France 2016. By that time he will have resigned under pressure of blame from the media and fans for yet another england failure.

And we'll be doing the same.... "The England manager will be without nine players from the squad which defeated Lithuania in their European Qualifier on Friday night, which means he is likely to start with a number of fringe players in an experimental line-up at the Juventus Stadium"
We'll have to play well to win.

When he took over he was given a 4 year contract. Don't think I said that? You misunderstand me Joe. What I meant was that the FA have learned a lesson from extending Capello's contract before the 2010 WC failure and not being able to get rid of him without a massive payout. That is why, IMO, Dyke is holding Hodgson to his current 4 year contract which expires in May. When he fails, and I'm fully expecting abject failure again, his contract will not be renewed and we start all over again. That's how poor I believe English footballers and coaches are at the present time.
