conversation over then ha ha He's another right footed player that plays on the left ala Arnie. So you'd have to assume we are still in for a right winger as well, because Arnie just can't play there!

Konoplyanka for free and Sergi Roberto on loan and we will be in an even stronger position next season after once again spending next to nothing.
Butland Cameron, Shawcross, Muniesa, Pieters Sergi Roberto, N'Zonzi Arnie, Bojan, Konoplyanka Diouf
I'm not saying other positions won't need strengthening but that would look by far our best team in recent times. Still not completely convinced those two transfers are realistic, though.

I'd much rather us sign a proper DM than Roberto, if it's a choice between playing Roberto and Zonz or Whelan and Zonz I think I'd still have Whelan in there. Also Arnie cannot play on the right neither can Konoplyanka as they're the same player (Right footed cutting in from the left), so I'd much rather have a new RW than Arnie or us signing Konoplyanka. And finally, Cameron is still in there, enough said.

In fairness to Arnie, and any other player at the club if the oppurtunity presents itself then we should be always looking to improve.

Believe. I do wonder who else might be interested although the Prem seems to be his desired destination so hopefully we're only dealing with competition in our own backyard. He certainly showed England a clean pair of heels in his games against us. That's why he probably fancies it over here

If he can handle the physicality and the high intensity of the premier league then he'll be amazing. Next fucking hazard right there sign him up Hughes worth a gamble

Certainly looks the real deal, this lad.
A front four of him, Arnie, Bojan and Diouf could be pretty handy!

Whether the left is his favoured position or not, he can definitely play on the right and some of his better crosses have come from that side. As I said in the post, I wasn't saying some of the other positions didn't need strengthening (right back being one of them). I can only assume you disregarded that part of the post so you could get in a negative comment about Cameron?

On the right he offers something different - a quality cross. Happy to see him on either flank.

I can only assume you disregarded that part of the post so you could get in a negative comment about Cameron? That's true - one of Crouch's best goals came from an Arnie cross from the right a couple of months back. In any case we need more than just two dedicated inverted wingers for the wide positions. Our system requires not only assists but goals from the wide men and injuries and loss of form mean you really need 4 people able to play in the two wide positions in the squad. Say, for example, we get Konoplyanka and Sidney Sam (also available this summer). That would give us Arnie and Konoplyanka as options on the left and Sam and Wingie as options on the right. That would be a pretty decent group of players who could cover the wide positions and, in the case of Sam, Konoplyanka and Wingie, act as cover for a striker as well. Its as close to total football as we'll ever see at Stoke! I rather think Walters might move on this summer and he isn't really a wide player anyway. EDIT: Did you know that Konoplyanka's name means "linnet" in Ukranian? And the cock linnet has a red breast - its an omen I tell yer!

Surely this guy will replace Arnie. Odem and SJW will battle for a place on the other flank.
And IF we sign Sergi Roberto he will be N'Zonzi's replacement, whose contract ,of course, is in exactly the same situation as Bego.
