The Spurs link is far more tangible then our own I just don't see us getting him now I've realistically looked at our links Its not sky official account, @skysqortsnewshq Calm down I don't mean that specific link, that looks like bollocks. I mean in general, I think they are far more likely to sign him then us...

On a scale of 1-10 how reliable is Nixon? Wouldn't Percy etc. be in on this too?

Loic Remy all over again. Completely different, that was a publicity stunt, if this is happening its been relatively quiet.

Alan Nixon@reluctantnickoso what is there left to do? Or is he holding out for a bigger club perhaps? Sign the contractalso how accurate are the 100k wage demands? Not that high. But very very big.Konoplyanka 100% had medical? If so, are we expecting Stoke to announce soon? Sounds all but done to me. Stoke went over there to give him a medical. Only way of doing it. That was in story at start of week. Devil in detailso we should expect this to be signed and sealed pretty soon then? No reason to hold it up now. Remember to bookmark this page ready for the next time someone asks if Alan Nixon is full of shit or not, 'cause he's really nailed his colours to the mast on this one.

I tweeted Percy yesterday but had no reply, so seems he doesn't know anything or doesn't want to reveal it yet.

In all fairness to Nixon he isn't sitting on the fence, he's not using maybe's or what ifs, he seems pretty certain

It must be someone at the club or he wouldn't be so certain? He seems to know that there has been a medical, stoke officials flew out at the weekend, he knows the wage we've offered and he knows that Konoplyanka has agreed to them. It really does seem like he knows something more than just a stab in the dark. Normally he's a 'stoke are interested in...' kind of journo, and not really one to be s certain as he is on their particular deal. Time will tell I suppose.

I can see wages being a problem - if they were for Spurs, then surely they will be even more so for us, unless he significantly lowers his demands. If he does so, I would imagine that Spurs would come back into the picture?

I've only seen this guy, on TV,3 times now. not set the world on fire in any of those games Clearly quick & great control, crossing seems poor although playing on the right/crossing with his right may help with this. If we do sign him AND Moses (both seem likely at the moment) & assuming Arnie is staying then one of them has to play on the right predominantly? Not seen enought to form a firm opionion though - players have to be supershyte or superamazing to judge that quick imho - His reputation is high generally. Looking forward to seeing him in a Stoke shirt. Didn't see him put one in the top bin against England then? yes I did....but forgot about the goal I remmeber Engalnds fullback (Walker)was given the run around by him tbh my memory isn't great, did I leave the gas on?

It seems pretty certain we are very keen on him, and it's been suggested we've gone as far as an initial medical in the Ukraine before proceeding, but it is hard to see how wage demands which were too rich for Spurs recently can so quickly be settled with Stoke. I know we sometimes get creative on signing on fees etc. (like with Crouch and Diouf), but the numbers I've seen mentioned re Spurs (£100,000 a week) are way above anything we could contemplate paying based on our current wage structure.

Let's say we can pay 60k a week. 40,000 difference * 52 weeks a year * 3 year deal =6.2 million. Give him 5 million signing on fee and pay 60 k a week. Win/Win? Would you be happy if we bought him for 5 million?

Now on Twitter saying he's off to Inter. I'm beginning to have a feeling of déjà vu again where we're being played by his agent. Damn shame as he looks a great player.
