It's pathetic.
What game is that, by the way?

It's pathetic. What game is that, by the way? Probably one where the ref as usual made a totally biased decision against us as per.

By no means are we anywhere near the worst offenders, but it's undeniable that our players are crowding the ref there. And to be fair, if you click on the story they have different photos - one of Chelsea and one of another team (can't remember).

Its ridiculous, since when have we ever been accused of surrounding the referee? And now suddenly we are the front page of this scourge of the game

We invented it. Along with diving, holding in the box, and the long throw. Cheers Gary.

You'd more than likely find stock pics of us being used to highlight positive stories as well. I just find it ironic that many on this MB have been very vocal over the years about players from the big clubs using ref-mobbing as a tactic yet now it's a media cause-celebre we are the poster boys.

It wasn't the original image used though, I was on the BBC site as the article went up. The initial image wasn't one of Stoke, I clicked the article once within minutes of it being posted, had a read. About 5-10 minutes later saw the image and saw it was Stoke players so just clicked thinking it must have been something to do with us.

I have noticed on the BBC, whenever a player is mentioned, there is always a picture of that player playing against us. If you think about it though, if a picture of Chelsea or a big boy was put up, that club would make a right stink, Stoke don't give a shit, we know what we are so who honestly cares if they used a picture of us for this

That image is bewildered Stoke City players not understanding how top ref Michael Oliver missed a blatent handball by Chris Smalling in the game vs Man Utd on New Years Day
Hardly harranging him aggressively, just fucking confused how one on Englands finest officials (not my words) could miss such a fucking obvious decision and get it so wrong.
Not that the Beeb put any sort of context around it - its not like John Terrys image wasnt suitable as he jumped and stamped his feet before chasing the red to get Ibra sent off. No, dont use that image whatever you do

This isn't to say I give a shit about this stuff, because I honestly don't, but the only reason the topic of surrounding the ref has been moved to the front burner lately is because of recent actions by Chelski. I don't think this has ever been an issue for us, hell we weren't even mentioned in the damn article. So why would we be prominently displayed like that? And people wonder why we have such a 'us against the world' mentality (which I love, btw). Things such as this definitely contribute to it.

Without wishing to hijack the thread, and I hope this is not mentioned elsewhere today but another cracker from the BBC
Phil Bardsley's 'knockout blow' on Wayne Rooney has made its way into WWE, with one commentator likening wrestler Nikki Bella's finishing move to the Sunderland midfielder's punch

Are you confusing his avatar (Eric Stoltz from Pulp Fiction I think?) for William H Macy from the US Shameless by any chance?
