Bachmann is more than capable as a number Two Sorry I can't agree with that and I doubt the club would to be honest

It's hardly going to ruin our season if it was Bachmann in the number 2 place. What I am saying if or when Asmir leaves why use £3-4mill of his transfer fee to get another GK who will sit on the bench as necessity when we have Bachmann willing to fill that role

Not really unless you consider 2/3 million decent money? That's what these pair cost each. They were both £3.5M plus add on's from clubs on their absolute arses. Well be lucky to get similar value again. I would say 3 or 4 Mill on a reserve 'keeper is fairly decent money anyway. Butland 3.3 rising to 3.5m Bego 3.25m www.stokecityfc.com/team/transfers-signings/Something of that magnitude again would be excellent value.

Agree with Fraise.
Bachmann needs more time out on loan at a higher level first.

Can think of a few MLS keepers who would do a job as a solid #2.... For under £3.5million.

Agree with Fraise. Bachmann needs more time out on loan at a higher level first. This. If one of them go, simply get solid oap pro in as no2.schwarzer would be ideal imho (Or another solid pro for bachmann/butland to learn from) Then bachmann on loan again...preferably a champ/1st div side.

Because he will be 43 next season and is way past his best. I'd rather have Bachmann as number 2.

Pretty sure one of Beggo or Butland will leave. I think Asmir will sign a new contract which will leave Jack feeling very twitchy.

MH: We're leaving talks with Asmir until the summer. We've got nine games left and rightly Asmir wants to focus on those games. Any discussions will take place in the summer. We're comfortable with that and we think and hope they'll be positive. We know he's very happy here. I think we are able to offer a lot of things which tick a lot of boxes for Asmir.

Asmir may leave this summer or next, he will move on. We may be lucky to have someone else ready to take his place with the odd bad game that all players have to start with, but when I watched JB play last season at home against Everton he was ok and if Peanut had not caused a penalty then he would have had a clean sheet. We are in a good position with Asmir being a club member and regular player that wants to win and get the club higher up the league , but now the club is being watched more by scouts, so a day will come when we lose him.

Consensus and seems to be either that we don't know how good Jack is, or he needs games to become better.
Goalie is a difficult position in that it is the worst position not to have a good back up in, because no one else (outfield) can really stand in, you need your no. 2 to be ready to step in, but can never really give him games/game time.
We've got 9 games to go. We are completely safe. It seems to me jack should get at least a 3 game run for him to get match time and us to evaluate his ability to step up and replace Asmir.

MH: We're very fortunate to have three very good goalkeepers. We'll be speaking to Asmir in the summer and we're very confident in that regard. We've got a lot of things to offer to Asmir. He knows we're a good club who will continue, hopefully, to progress. We hope he can achieve what he wants from his career here at Stoke.

Liverpool would be a bit of a weird one, hasn't Mignolet's distribution supposedly been one of the reasons total football Brendan's lost faith in him?

Liverpool has always looked the most obvious destination in the Premier League to be honest. Unless De Gea leaves Man United

Just slightly off subject, a news report today here in Australia regarding a Rugby League player announcing its his last season with Sydney Roosters as he as agreed a new contract with New Zealand Warriors. How would we react if if someone like Beggo announced his plans at the beginning of a season, don't think it would go down well at all with most of us.

Begovic was all set to move to spurs before coming here, so much so that he was having a medical there only for stipe pletikosa walk through the door as a back up in case bego failed, bego thought it was an insult and thought spurs didn't show him much confidence so he cancelled and signed for us instead, what I'm tryin to say is I can't see him at spurs.

Bachmann is more than capable as a number Two Really? I see him more as taking Sorenson's place as #3 keeper with a loan to a League One side probably the next step-up. He's only a kid and hasn't played first-team football above conference level. Having him as #2 would be a massive risk. Butland's got potential but I also think he was a tad over-hyped in his early career. He'll go on to be a solid Premiership keeper I'm sure, but Begovic is Top 4-class. That's a significant difference in ability, and I wouldn't say that Butland is really a Premiership-standard keeper yet.
