I'm flying over from Guernsey and was planning to go to this match. A trip to London and the chance to see Stoke play at a traditional ground like Upton Park before it gets demolished really appealed to me.
so do the posters on this board think we will sell all of our allocation ? I only manage to get across for 2 to 3 games a season so i'm going to have to take my chance when the tickets go on general sale on March 20th. I was expecting the allocation to be more around the 2000 mark.
On a similar note I usually go to the last game of the season and have recently found out that there is no general sale for the Liverpool game. I'm feeling a bit jinxed at the mo !

We sold over 1,000 at QPR which was a 12.30 kick off, live on the telly and even more expensive if I recall. I think with the free travel we'll just about sell out....

Sure its been 35 quid the last few years. That price is scandalous, particular if you end up near the front of the block that goes past the corner flag. We've booked train tickets already. If I hadn't, I wouldn't be going. For me and a 7 year old, we'll be looking at best part of 200 quid for a football day out. You could take the lad away for a week for that sort of money. Prices are a joke but as long as people keep rocking up and paying then it ain't going get cheaper He is taking him away, london a day in the capital watching his favorite team.and rocking up , really!

It is a lot of money but when you can only get to certain games because of work commitments then it is just hard luck. I would have preferred to have gone to West Brom or Swansea or Burnley but I can't. .so £43 it is :-(

Sadly, although our venue is awful, it's the home fans who bear the brunt of its inconvenience.
Sitting in the car parks, especially after evening matches, while the away fans make their exit first, having also been bused to the stadium, from Stoke station and having great unobstructed views from the away end, with their team coming out in front of them must make our ground one of the best to visit.

Worth it if the away fans go home without any points.? The traffic situation does need revisiting, the location and access to the ground does create problems. Like lots of traffic arrangements, the people responsible for taking such decisions should take the time to experience the situation an hour or so before and after the game. Re our West Ham sales, 2 of the 3 blocks allocated to us are filling up (the 3rd one not available yet) - so looking like a good turn out, despite the prices

I don't mind paying a bit more when it is a proper stadium in a city like Upton Park, Goodison Park or White Hart Lane, I just get resentful when you get stuck in one of those godforsaken out of town lego type arrangements and invited to pay top dollar. Goodison Park???

Me and 2 Kids at Villa = £75 Me and 2 Kids at WBA = £45 Me and 2 Kids at West Ham = £93 Match day ticket prices are getting ridiculous. West Ham over double than West Brom? Suffice to say that West Ham won't be on our itinerary this season.

Hope we dont sell out this will be my first away game for 2 years, I'm pretty sure because of the price we won't sell out. I reckon we'll sell between 1,000 - 1,200.

It's daylight robbery but unfortunately they will keep charging £40+ as utter morons keep paying it. Quite sad really. I agree with your sentiment and there is no way I would pay that much to get in a football ground for a league match, but it's a bit much calling your fellow Stokies morons for wanting to watch their team. If you pay £40+ to watch a football match but then moan about it being £40+ you're a moron.

It wouldn't be on mine if I a) hadn't bought the train tickets already and b) hadn't promised him that he could do a London away day on the train this season. He had was given a choice of Chelsea or West Ham, sold to him that we had more chance of winning at West Ham, so it was West Ham he picked. I never saw these prices coming in all honesty.

Just got my two for me and the lad.
Unlike the old days where I would go to every game regardless I now tend to pick and choose due to the cost.
Always make an effort to go to West Ham, one of my favourite away games (along with Pompey).

It's been suggested in the media that when the new money comes in that all away tickets should be £20 each. Be great if it happens.

The football isn't worth it no. However, if you can afford to pay the ridiculous prices, the time spent with your mates and your kids, the bonds that are formed as a result, are worth every Penn and more.

However I pay over the odds for a lot of things, just less often than I would otherwise. I won't go to Chelsea, but I will go to West Ham.
