No Bojan, no Ireland. For the next few games (possibly the rest of the season) who is the main creative player to feed the forward line? Adam? Or do we switch all attacking play to the wings?

Can Adam last 90 minutes? Will Shenton now get his chance from the bench?

There are certainly options. Maybe try Arnie in there again or Walters behind Diouf with Arnie wide. Crouch up with Diouf or Walters depending on the opposition and home or away. Adam with Shenton as his replacement when his legs have gone. Shenton replaced by Adam when the oppositions legs are tiring. Its all about utilising the squad, its not perfect but something we need to learn how to do rather than having 3 or 4 big earners in every position.

Adam's probably earned a start.
Otherwise we either go 442 with Crouch and Diouf or bring Sidwell in and push Nzonzi forward.

At a push we could bring Sidwell on and let Zonz have a go. Snap!

You only have to watch yesterday's game back to realise who the creator is. Adam was superb in the 2nd half and a refreshed Charlie Adam now given the chance to keep his shirt will be just what we need

There's 4 options for me. In order of preference I'd probably go
1 - Adam.
2 - Arni
3 - NZonzi with Sidwell in at DM.
4 - Shenton.
Possibly also Walters in the hole or we could just go 442 with Diouf and Crouch up front.

Charlie Adam simple as that.
Maybe late on put jon in behind and bring on Arnie to play right wing.

Adam for 30 minutes then make it up from there. The fat fucker blows out of his arse after half an hour.

Give Charlie his chance, but Mark must tell him to behave himself!

No chance 4-4-2. We played like that against City and Blackburn and we were far too open through the middle. Adam to start for me and give Ollie Shenton a chance from the bench when he tires.

On what basis are posters identifying Shenton as a solution.
Must be either Sheer optimism or default.
I'm not saying he is not the solution, but seems like a major leap to be the player given the responsibility to replace the likes of Bojan and Ireland.
If he is capable of doing that then we have an exceptional player on our hands!

Teams like Liverpool throw in the likes of Sterling and Ibe out of nowhere, I don't recall Sterling have much loan experience when he was first in the side, we have to play him in a game or two to see where he's truly at if you ask me Edit: in fact Sterling has no loans

I reckon Hughes has probably got a better idea of that than us I agree but if he's been making a few appearances here and there maybe it's time he got a bit more, maybe Adam to start and Shenton to come on in his place? I have no idea if there is or isn't, literally all I've seen of him is a decent cameo against Pompey and 30 seconds against Citeh. I'd imagine if Hughes thinks he's ready he'll get a chance. I'm just wary of saying he 'should' be getting more game time because I haven't seen enough of him and people used to say the same thing about Louis Moult when he was getting on the bench.

I agree with what you are saying, I just think that there must be something about Shenton that appeals to Hughes, he doesn't strike me as the kind of manager that would just put a youngster on the bench for no reason. Perhaps he'll get some game time before the end of the season I can't judge his ability like yourself from what I've seen so far so it makes me curious and want to see how he handles things for a longer period. We'd all love him to bag a goal as well.

Adam and Arnie both to start on Wednesday, with both probably being replaced in the second half
