Now only 3 points off a play off spot, 3 fairly winnable games coming up. Good luck to them.

/In before the people that have no real reason to 'hate' vale.
I think promotion would be a step too far yet, they'd get spanked in the championship. But they're certainly doing well. Good luck to them.

Good luck to the vale??? Bollocks to that. They hate us with a passion. You should try living next door to a Vale fan then see how often they wish us well.

After entering administration, TWICE, they now have a chance of entering the 2nd division, there's a chance that Port Vale v Aston Villa could be a league fixture next season! It's a disgrace, they should've been left to rot. Here's hoping for another stint in administration and that the council don't help them out.

The existence of Port Vale has a totally detrimental effect on the development and success of my own club.
Next time they go into administration I hope the council refuses to use tax payer's money to bail them out and that everyone else sees the club as the bottomless money pit it really is.
Football in North Staffs would be better without Port Vale.

Surely having an axe to grind with Vale is like ManURe fans hating Rochdale , Chelsea fans hating Orient or Bindippers hating Southport these days ??... I used to work with a home & away Wealdstone fan ...totally mad for the non league team ...the biggest thing that wound him up was the occasional person asking 'yes, but what REAL team do you support ?" ....may I suggest you just say the same to our historic rivals . Hell !! We've even moved on from announcing & cheering Vale losing at half time ,and in latter years even that took on a pantomime style reaction. All joking aside though , am I alone in having an almost grudging respect for supporters who have a 'top Premiership' team in their city ...yet support And stick with the club they had the misfortune to be born into ?

On bbcstoke all they ever talk about is mainly port vale on praise and grumble instead of the premier league team that they cover. I don't hate or like the Vale I just don't care about them and I'm sick of hearing about them on bbcstoke so I would prefer it if they didn't get promoted

There's a simple Law that exists regarding Vale fans;
The less Vale fans you know the more sympathetic you are towards them. And conversely, the more Vale fans you know the more you HATE them.
'The Law of Inverse Vale Fans' as it is known.
I know quite a few so I only detest them..not pure hatred..don't know enough of 'em.

Maybe that explains my earlier slightly magnanimous posting Wizzard , personally I've never worked with , met or spoke to a Vale fan ,and being a North London Stokie may I say your excellent 'Law' is also very appropriate when Arsenal is substituted into the 'equation'

Exactly Choppy.
I've had the misfortune of going to numerous Vale games over the years ( Work related..not through choice) and the amount of abuse aimed at Stoke has to be heard to be believed. I also know a few Vale fans..decent enough people..but they just cannot stop criticising Stoke "Bad result at Blackburn".." You've spent millions on players".."You only had 12,000 in the Championship".."That new away strip looks shit".." The Vic was better than the Brit".
On and on and on and on they go :-(

Rob Page is doing an excellent job. First managerial appointment and he looks really decent. If Vale don't match his ambition, he'll be off and do the business with somebody else. The bigger teams of that division should be taking a look at him.

I've known a few vale fans, mostly reasonable blokes, except when it comes to stoke. frankly i couldn't care less what their teams do unless they are playing us or in the same division as us. listening to them go on about stoke makes them sound like little kids it really does.

Whichever way you think on how they are doing, its hard to get away from the bitterness they have towards us. They hate us, we aren't really interested in them at this time. A bit like Forest and Notts County have always been.
I didn't know they had a chance of making the play offs, I generally switch to another station when the discussion fall's to them.

I suppose after living overseas for years i am fairly ambivalent towards the Vale. I did find myself looking for their result after ours as they are a Stoke based club. It was always Stoke,Vale,Crewe results first just because they are links to your roots when away. They won't get promoted but i don't really care if they go up or down.

Judging from many of the comments on Vale threads like this, it's a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black. When Vale do well, it's good for Stoke-on-Trent.

Judging from many of the comments on Vale threads like this, it's a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black. When Vale do well, it's good for Stoke-on-Trent. If Vale did not exist we would attract much larger crowds and would have the potential to be a much bigger and much more successful top flight club. This would lead to much greater world wide awareness of the city of Stoke-on-Trent. When Port Vale do well most the population of England are not even more aware of Stoke-on-Trent, never mind the rest of the world. The continued existence of PVFC is a major obstacle to the future success of my football team, as such I can not wish them anything but ill fortune.

I don't understand how any Stoke fan can have anything but the utmost contempt for the vile scum. They hate everything about us and are far more interested in Stoke failing than their own tinpot outfit doing well.
I know one sickness who says his happiest moment in football was us losing the cup final.

Im not one for any squabbling at football matches or being nasty in general but i agree with this statement if it was put in a different context maybe ' vale can bugger off' or something like that. Im still not too pleased my council tax went to save this club.
