Mark Stein is up there with the very best....a true legend in my eyes. One of the very best strikers this club has had .
Fantastic player....

If we had Steino at his peak now we'd be top six.

Only 8 more goals from Walters, 16 from Crouch and 57 from Wilkinson to make that top 20 list.

Steino and Bojan in the same team. I think my cock would explode. Steino and Bojan or Steino and Huddy? Really Steino's movement was sublime. When he equalled or broke that record of scoring in consecutive games for Chelsea in the top division he really was something to behold. Shame it didn't last longer for the little fella.

One day, if I'm lucky enough to have grandchildren, and they ask me about the great Stoke players I've seen, I'll tell them all about our Premier League Championship winning team of 2021, then try to explain how the greatest player I ever saw in the red and white stripes was a little third division striker we once had.

Perhaps if top flight goals were worth 3 points, Div 2 worth 2 pts and Div 3 worth 1 pt, then that table would be a little more useful.
It also makes a mockery of the 150 year anniversary fans' choice of best team that leaves Ritchie on the bench.

As for Stein I don't care who he scored against,I know how good he was. Better than all the strikers we have had since. Fuller was magic,Crouch is a top link man,Thorn scored hat tricks e.t.c. Stein was better,no question.

Thorne is still my hero. Never witnessed much of steino due to work commitments in the mid 90s he was certainly well revered by many at the club including me. But I will never forget how good Thorney was for us. He was a one man scoring machine for us.

Still remember going in the bookies in hill street in Stoke now chippy and Lou and steino were in there with steino on a stool and his legs dangling miles from the floor and I thought how the chuff are u so good and they both were having a little flutter.had a soft spot for Wayne Biggins until the twat kissed his shirt badge on Saturday and went Celtic in the week (think Mansfield away won 4 nil but not sure)
