The only problem with starting with Charlie is that one of your three substitutes is ear-marked from the start. Then again, the only way you can get him up to speed is by starting him in as many matches as you can.
I'd go for Diouf up front as Everton will probably leave gaps, then Walters behind him with Arnie on the right. Crouch and Adam to be called on if we're in the shit.

I'd rest victor for arnie. Not sure I would, we have a 10 day break coming up so with Moses our most consistent attacking threat this year I think I'd start with him. Arnie could play though, whatever knock he's been carrying must be better now.

Arnie could play though, whatever knock he's been carrying must be better now. Moses has had 3 and a half poor games (by his standards) in a row in my opinion. It may be worth a try for a half and if Arnies not up to it haul him off. Also Arnies demeanour looked well Saturday, joking around and even celebrating the goal with crouch.

I would risk starting Shenton. We have a sound defence so only the creation of chances would be really affected. If it works ok if not Adam could finish off the game. Sooner or later we need to take a risk with him this may be the moment. The occasional ten minutes here and there won't prove much either way, not throwing him in the deep end he needs to be protected but not molliecoddled.

Shenton on for Adam around the hour mark would be good.

How mental will it be if we win this, Everton would surely be doomed to bottom half of the table

I would go for
Bego
Bards Wilson Wolly Pieters
Zonz Whelan
Walters Arnie Moses
Crouch
I think as long as we can keep it tight at the back, Everton will present us chances. The reason I have gone for Arnie in the middle is because Charlie is probably not fit enough to start at the moment, plus if we are struggling, he can come on and offer something different. I have also gone with Crouchy as they cant seem to deal with balls into the box, plus Dioufy could come on and force them to sit back if they are chasing the game.

More importantly when will be the next time? Not looking to hang him out to dry but that is his position and he will learn more by starting than coming on when we are cruising.

That's why I said 'as if' I don't know much about him other than that under-21 game which was shown live. It seemed to me he was miles off a place in this league. However, the management team are confident enough to include him in the squad, so you might get your wish. It's exciting to have a young prospect, and I hope we see plenty of him, in the last few games, I just think other players are more likely to have a positive impact in a game like this. We shall see!

Probably better to play safe as you say, would hate for him to be subbed on then off again. Possibly against a "lesser" team would be a better opportunity. Just think he may prove better than someone playing out of position.

Watching Everton yesterday against Arsenal, Jagielka has the speed of a glacier, so I would go 2 up top with Crouch flicking them on to Diouf to run onto....

I'd be tempted to start Arnie on the left after Moses rather underwhelmingly half-arsed performance on Saturday. He needs to know he is not undroppable. I'd reward Charlie and Crouch with starts after their impressive sub outings. If we want players to show they are worth a start when they come on, we must back that up. We'd have Moses and Diouf to run at their tiring defence in the last 30 minutes as a Plan B.
Begovic
Bardsley Wollscheid Wilson Pieters
Whelan N'Zonzi
Walters Adam Arnautovic
Crouch

Will Walters be fit for 2 games in a week?
If he is put him in the middle for Ireland and bring Arnie in on the right, if he isn't then bring Crouch in and go two up front.

One of the Everton players has said, this is a must win game for them. We need to treat this one like we would against Arsenal or Manure. Let's get right behind the boys on Wednesday night. Gooooaaaarrrrrrnnnnn Stoke!

I thought Walters was a bit out of sorts satdee and not his new found bombastic self, if he is fit and it was just on off day, he'd be great to bring off the bench, Moses hasn't been tried on the right yet.
---------------Begovic---------------- --Bardsley Wolscheid Wilson Pieters--- -----------N'Zonzi Whelan------------ ---------Moses Crouch Arnautovic------ ----------------Diouf------------------ -
Walters, Adam, Sidwell, Cameron, Tex & Shenton

Personally I'd like NZonzi to be pushed up into the position ,with Sidwell or Fonzi filling in behind ,also I wouldn't rule out Mr Adaptable SJW to move in behind Crouch ,with Mame Diouf pushed out wide again . I thought Charlie did really well , but I can't see him lasting more than 45 minutes these days , both due to his stamina and how long he'd avoid picking up 2 yellow cards You would move Nzonzi up and replacement him with Fonzi? Either really impressive, or I am missing something

Crouch in the hole? I'll have what you're having. It wouldn't be a hole though, it'd be a kind of pivot with plenty of options buzzing around the great man. Crouch like a fulcrum dominating the centre circle to the edge of their box, feeding the wings and doing. I'm not setting up the formation like Table Football. Movement required. My round? A pint of Slumbering Monk & a Frangelico chaser?

I'd go for Charlie Adam in place of Ireland and Start diouf still think if we play crouch from the start it will be a scrappy game without it really needing to be.

Agree with diouf to start, pace is key in a game like this IMO. Especially with them having such a static back line. Thought on saturday we moved the ball really decisively and quickly in the first half, they just stuck everyone on the 18 yard line, meaning we couldn't break through. Different story wednesday I feel, lots of space to take advantage of and quick, high pressing needed to force them into mistakes.
Bego Bardsley Wils Wollscheid Pieters Nzonzi Whelan Walters Adam Moses Diouf
Possible exception of Arnie in for Moses, although I can't see hughes dropping him.

Worried about Baines being out mind, that Garbutt lad looks like he can cross a ball, and we can't defend crosses for toffee.
