Looked awful today what's happened? Gave up far too easily and lacked any sort of effort or desire, hardly ever tried to take his man on and often stopped and looked to pass backwards. It's not the first match he's been like this either. Gouranga.

Perhaps being triple marked had something to do with it?

Moses needs the space to trick, twist and burst past his markers. Hull compressed the play so much he was largely snuffed out.

I'm guessing the arrival of his nipper has something to do with it also.
I've not long had one so can empathise. I urge all you oldies to cast your minds back to the days when you were new fathers and how the long nights, interrupted sleep patterns affected you.
To all those that haven't had kids yet, good luck because you'll need it!

How big is our pitch? Perhaps extra space would benefit vic next year. Surely it can be increased

You need two wingers on the pitch to make it work. You also need at least one more on the bench. Got some deals to make then.

I for one certainly wouldn't break the bank for Moses , would prefer us to go with an eager foreign type such as trader from barca !

Bound to be peaks and troughs in any player's form & his dip speaks to his previous good form & expectations (as the Telegraph link above highlights).
As someone who was well miffed when TP didn't buy him from Palarse way back when, if he's available at the price recently suggested and he's seriously up for a move as a bona fide team / squad member, as opposed to using Stoke as ano PL 'shop window' then it is a no brainer.

Triple marked as already pointed out. Against a defence of 5 men it is hard to get in down the flanks. He at least retained posession.
Pointless post really

It doesn't take a tactician to work out they doubled up on him so he had little option most of the time to simply retain possession. I would sign Moses up in a heartbeat. The lads gold for us.

Just marked out which created room on the other side and through the middkle which we never exploited until Adam came on.
Walters had a quiet afternoon, i suppose his battering ram approach was never really going to unsettle a team like Hull.

No doubt he is a talented player, enjoying working alongside some very good players here at Stoke.
He is getting lots of game time ( he wasn't at Chelsea or Liverpool) and has a great chance to continue this here at Stoke or indeed put himself "in the shop window"
His diving exploits and less robust tracking back and tackling can give the impression that he is not giving 100% to the cause on some occasions
A bit like Arnie and other much loved players before him, some fans interpret this body language as laziness
As the quality, confidence and understanding improves (from the defenders behind him), then he can focus on his attributes and the reason that we have him here - to attack and score goals
I would like to see him here next season either as another loan deal or a permanent signing IF he wants really wants to be here

Take your point - and far be it from me to defend TP - but I actually think VM was the season after we signed TS?
That said (& if I'm right) that was also well after we concluded that Tom was a dud and we therefore needed ano winger.
Either way, it's as you were: TP was patchy with his signings & down right terrible with 'ones for the future' signings: it was blatantly obvious VM was going to be a good 'un.

In my opinion the truth lies somewhere in the middle. They came for a point and to not concede. One area they knew we posed a danger from was Moses, so as you point out, they doubled up on him every time he got the ball. In he first half, Pieters was willing to run past when Moses got the ball to drag one away, and thanks to this Moses had some good runs towards the box. However in the second half Pieters' runs dried up and Moses became more isolated. It happens, but the difference with Moses was that you could visibly see his fight to be in the game ebb away from him as the half wore on. Be it frustration or just one of his traits (it is not the first time), there certainly seemed to be an air of 'can't be arsedness' about him towards the end.

He's been off the boil for me for a while to be honest, but he was particularly poor on Saturday. Every opportunity he gets to blaze down the wing, he bottles it and waits to be surrounded by 2-3 players if he doesn't cut inside. Certainly not playing to the standard he was when he arrived.
