Did he really think that Hull deserved something from this game? Deluded comes to mind!

This really shows how hard it is for the officials to get these marginal offside decisions correct. The linesman is over 30 yds away from Charlie and possibly has his view blocked as he goes to deliver the cross. At the same time he has to look at Crouchy who goes from an onside position to an offside position for a split second before going back to an onside position. The split second Charlie delivered the ball was Crouchy in the onside or offside position? Impossible to tell with the distances involved for the linesman to be 100% sure and so he rightly gave the decision in the attackers favour. I'm sure Steve Bruce knows that and if the situation had been reversed he would be saying this.

For me it was one of the rare occasions that the offside rule was applied correctly ie in marginal split-second inconclusive situations the benefit of the doubt is offered to the attacking team - more often than not it is actually the other way around. So suck it up fat head.....!

You can only be given offside if a part of the body you can legally score a goal with is in an offside position.
The only part of Crouch's body in an offside position was his elbow.

The one major plus point regarding the useless liner yesterday was he was always behind play, so I wouldn't expect him to give an offside decision on Crouch's goal in a month of Sundays.

Bruce's description of how he "expects referees to get these big decisions right" is weird at best given how marginal the decision is.
Funnily he didn't mention the bookings we got and the ones they got away with.
Meyler for instance should have been sent off given he was on a yellow when he brought down Charlie on the edge of the box.

Crouchy was marginally off-side when the ball was kicked then went on-side for a second which probably fooled the linesman. But it was very, very marginal and no one raised it at the time.
Bruce is desperate not to lose his job; his team's performance was dire.
