I like the idea of a sin bin, as long as it actually is a sin bin, so any player guilty of lying, false prophecy, adultery or murder, for example, is literally put in a bin. You left out Palacious so add gluttony and sloth. He's more than adequately covered by the false prophecy category.

The day Blatter goes the day football can get back on track. The corrupt cunt is a maggot though and I wonder how low he'd steep to win another election. I wouldn't be surprised if Figo was murdered by a hitman in the next few weeks, and all the evidence will point to the other election candidate, conveniently.

A 48 team World Cup? No thanks. Agree. There are too many shit teams in the Wc already. Increasing the countries in.it will just exacerbate this situation

The old king is dead, long live the king.
Sepp Blatter has nothing to do with game 39 for example. They're all in it to line their pockets and the corruption won't go away. Our game is rotten to it's very core

"Among the Portugal great's eye-catching proposals was a promise to redistribute a chunk of FIFA's cash reserves"
Redistribute the cash how? If it's among the FIFA representatives he might just get in. If it's among those who need it he's got no chance.

Figo's another unknown quantity. I'd much rather see somebody who has a proven track record of doing the right thing (apologies to Mr. Figo if this is the case).
.....Ddd..dd..David Bechkam. There I said it.
David might not be the sharpest tool in the box, but he flies arrow straight. And thats exactly what FIFA need right now. We dont need somebody to come in mix things up with sin bins and what not - we need a reformer and an honest, steady hand.
FIFA needs to rebuild its battered reputation before new offside rules are bought in. Surely any serious candidate will know this? It already feels like Figo is in Blatter's pocket.

IMO the best league in the world is the Bundesliga, when you look at the whole package from what's on the pitch, financial control, national team, ticket prices and fan experience, youth system etc. They seem a very balanced footballing nation.
If FIFA was serious about itself going forwards they would involve someone with experience at a higher level in that system, to give them a sound starting point.
Not some no mark or some big name ex player that has no experience.

The fact of the matter is though the Bundesliga are looking very closely at ways of adapting their league to be much closer to the phenomenal financial success of the English Premier League model. £5Billion in revenues is enough to make even the purists eyes water. No, FIFA needs a reformer and that means someone with cast iron credententials - preferably with a halo. The Lord Coe of football as it were; that's Becks.

Who were the shit teams from the 2014 WC? England for one The problem as I see it, is that the confederation with the most power and the most berths isn't doing anything about the number of its own shit teams making it to the WC (or to the round of 16, for that matter). Here's a list of the teams Greece (a shit team, IMO) beat en route to the round of 16 (qualifying included): Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Iceland, Cote D'Ivoire (also managed to draw B&H and Japan) That's absolutely pathetic and you would be hard pressed to find a team from another confederation that can take such a shit route to the R16. Lucky group in qualifying and because they were in the UEFA pot, they could not be drawn against a number of top teams at the WC. Meanwhile, Sweden and Ukraine stay home. So if the complaint is shit teams, then the Confederation with the most spots needs to improve its qualification process. I find it unjust that teams like Panama and Jamaica (just to name a two from CONCACAF) are perpetually marginalized while UEFA continues a qualification method that will almost always deliver one or two equally shit teams to the WC (more than that last year). So, if the objection to shit teams at the WC is the reason for not expanding, then I propose the following solutions: 1) UEFA improves its qualification process 2) More intercontinental playoffs

They could and would blitz all out of sight. Beckham is a solid shout to be fair. His worldwide pull is phenomenal, and he could certainly lay his hands on whatever help he needed, even if it does contradict my original statement.

Just took a look at the odds and if your name is not Sepp Blatter you can pretty much forget it:
Sepp Blatter 1/41 Luis Figo 30/1 Michael van Praag 35/1

Sin bin yes or no? At least if a player commits a foul deemed serious to warrant the sin bin (the offences stipulated in the FA rule book) the punishment is instant and benefits the team the offence has been committed against. Whats wrong with that?
As for Luis Figo in place of Blatter it has to be a yes. Blatter is a lying, egotistical, well passed his sell by date. All the scandals have taken place on his watch. We are the FIFA committee members afraid to vote against Blatter ?
