Interesting quote re Muniesa: "Over the course of the last two months you could argue he's been probably our best defender and showed a lot of maturity," said Bowen "He's almost nailed down that left-hand side centre-half spot as his own." Ermmmm...like when he was dropped after a certain German came in. Did he actually say 'almost'? If he did, I guess he is correct.

Did he mention the truly world class decision to move Huth on to Leicester? No, but he did mention they are all going on a course to master hindsight. Plenty (myself included) thought it was an odd decision at the time.

Difficult couple of weeks ahead.
I'd imagine there will be hissyfits aplenty on here for the foreseeable.

Why not? No way Wilson is fit. This is what having a squad is about. Play him imo.

You don't need the ability to pre-empt Saturday's lotto numbers to foresee sending Huth to a club that we can't recall from was poor management. Does it matter if he wanted to go or not? He was under contract last time I looked.

You don't need the ability to pre-empt Saturday's lotto numbers to foresee sending Huth to a club that we can't recall from was poor management. Does it matter if he wanted to go or not? He was under contract last time I looked. The chairman, below, said: "Yes, I can understand why supporters would be asking why did you let him go, but equally I can understand the management team's reasons for doing so. "They wanted to give him games after his long-term knee injury and it was felt reserve games weren't suitable. "We had also brought in Philipp Wollscheid to add to the centre-halves we had here. "The timing was then very unfortunate with the injuries that followed the decision to let Robert go. "Ryan has got a wonderful appearance record, for instance, but then came that bad run of injuries which included him, Marc Wilson and now Marc Muniesa." He sympathises with Wollscheid after seeing the 25 year-old German withstand a torrid time while team-mates have been dropping all around him. "I think he's been doing very well," he asserted. "He had a tough first game at Arsenal, but didn't do any worse than anyone else and that was a tremendous Arsenal team that would have given anyone a tough game. "Since then he's done well. On Saturday at Blackburn we just didn't defend well, but everybody has to defend, not just the back four." Clutching at straws, but we can still get someone in who is out of contract.
Even if Shawcross can return in a week or 2, Muniesa will be missed
Agree for Saturday, if Texiera is fit enough to make the bench then he should be fit enough to start.
Time for our goal scorers to step up to the mark

Luckily we got Wolly in the January window! Think he'll show his class if we push up the team so he can outrun Agbonlahor and Benteke!

Impact players should be nowhere near our first team. Glenn was referring to this surely, you can't afford to carry anyone in this league.

Very little faith being showed in the players and management team on this thread!!!!! Crippling injuries in key areas of the pitch Pugs. No ones fault as such, but it leaves us potentially with a back four that is barely league 1 standard.

The £80 spent on ticket and train not looking to special right now.
Oh well, I have faith in the two W's and what will undoubtedly be the slowest back 4 in history.
Good job we're not playing against anyone pacey.....
