He was hopeless. I said before the game that it was a mistake to leave begovic out. Sadly it proved to be correct. Not our main problem today dave overexposed ,felt sorry for him really I don't doubt that for a minute but with that back 4 he was always going to be exposed. He shouldn't have played. Simple as. I called it befor the game and I wad right.

He's no replacement for Begovic, that's for certain.

Big mistake not to play Bego today. Not blaming Jack for the result but he just doesn't have the command of his area or his defenders like Bego does. With such a makeshift team out Hughesy should have played Bego....end of.

I was shocked at how poor he was for a supposedly bright prospect

Liverpool played Mignolet, Stoke played Butland! With all the injuries in defense you need to keep as consistent side as possible. Big Big mistake by Hughes not to play Bego. Lets face it he cant have been tired apart from picking the ball out of the net four times on Wednesday. I bet that also lifted Blackburn with no Walters Shawcross etc, who I accept were injured

During the transfer window Butts was going to be our saviour in the event of a swoop for Bego and still will be if Bego goes inthe summer. Butts was exposed by a defence decimated by injury, some very naive tactics and very poor communication. He's a good keeper dunner werrit.

Bloody hell - give the lad a break. I don't care how good you are, you stand no chance when your back 4 play so high up the pitch and were as disorganised as those 4 were
The bid dilemma is what do SCFC do with him. He has no game time whatsoever and yet gets put in to that mess
Ask the team she went out on loan to what they think of him
A very bright prospect, but a dilemma if Begovic stays as it will stem his development

He is a bright prospect but he is still only 22 and learning. Banks at his best (and I watched him) would have struggled with the lack of cover he was given. Unfortunately Butland as temporary keeper, lacks the authority to bollock the defence and for them to take notice.

while i dont dispute any of the comments about the woeful defence in front of him yday, but... i thought he was beaten to easily on the 2 one on ones, and having seen them again on the tv, he dived the wrong way on both, surely he has to be diving to the largest part of the goal with his upper body, and not the other way around, watch the goals again, i think he'l be disapointed with those 2 goals this mrng when he looks back....but agree with the comments re the shambles about our back four, and for the record, i said v qpr, city and yday before kick off, the german fella is nowhere near good enough for the premier league right now, to slow, not physical enough, and a doesnt seem to grasp the tempo he's playing in, he strolls around far to much for my liking, but i think we should give him until the end of the year before we make our final decision...

Got to agree, the back line was abysmal but so was Butland, when he was called upon he failed to do his job, it does not matter if he had 2 saves to make behind a brick wall of a defence or 20 saves to make behind a current stoke city defence, the saves were there to be made.....I "think" it was their 3rd goal that looked like it went straight between his legs.
Our main asset is Bego but I hope to god we make a decent signing of a keeper with some of the money we would make IF he were to leave us because JB does not fill me with confidence when ever I have seen him play
