I was never sold by Martinez, I fail to see how taking a team down qualifies for a big job. I think it's just our mentality of believing foreign is better when it reality it means nothing.
I agree that Lukaku is arrogant with his comments. If he was banging them in then fair enough but when he's playing shit I'd suggest he keeps his mouth shut!
Arnie's comments also came off as arrogant as he'd hardly started the season on fire when he suggested it, but strangely he can do no wrong on this board and that got brushed aside.

1) the point re: schurrle and mata isn't pathetic tripe...it's simply following EXACTLY the same logic you used i.e. Lukaku can't be good enough to play for a top club as one top club have just "Fecked him off"...explain exactly why it's pathetic tripe instead of you just avoiding it because it disproves your bollocks 2) all of your argument seems to completely miss the salient word Lukaku used "EVENTUALLY"...did he say he thinks he's good enough now anywhere in that article??? nope, he actually said he wants to develop! did he say he wants to leave Everton now? nope, the word eventually clearly explains that. tell you what, come back to me when you've realised what "Logic" is in terms of your construction of arguments and when you've learned how to actually read the words put down on paper in that article rather than your interpretation of them which completely miss out very important words such as "Develop" and "Eventually" Are you intentionally making things up? It is pathetic tripe as I NEVER SAID HE WAS SHIT. I said he was ARROGANT..arrogant.. Do you know what that means? I think it is arrogant to say what he has said. Not what has been sensationalised by Sky. In a season where his team aren't doing well, where he really is not delivering and when they have just spent £28 Million on him. Where have I said he was shit? As I said Pathetic tripe. Sorry, utter pathetic tripe. Oh and hypocritical too. You're a hypocrite then? Is that what you're saying? I understand what eventually means. Well done for spotting it. You get a house point. It still doesn't change my point in that I, not you, but I consider it to be an arrogant comment considering the timing and their predicament. arrogant /?ar??(?)nt/ adjective adjective: arrogant having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities. "he's arrogant and opinionated" synonyms: haughty, conceited, hubristic, self-important, opinionated, egotistic, full of oneself, superior; More so you've quoted the dictionary definition of the word arrogant and not spotted the fact that he doesn't actually fit in with it???? he never said he was good enough to play for a top team did he???? nope, he said he wants to develop so he can be eventually.2 MASSIVELY different things hoist by your own p'tard there dipshit ambitious adjective 1. having ambition; eagerly desirous of achieving or obtaining success, power, wealth, a specific goal, etc.: ambitious students. 2. showing or caused by ambition or an earnest desire for achievement or distinction: an ambitious attempt to break the record. 3. strongly desirous; eager: ambitious of love and approval. 4. requiring exceptional effort

is it arrogant to say he wants to improve and eventually (the salient word everyone seems to be intentionally missing here) move to a top club? i think that's simply called ambition mate he's a damn good player and if people think he's shit simply because he hasn't scored hatfuls then they've completely misunderstood what his game is about..he does far more for everton that that and recently has been one of their best and most definitely hard working players in a decidedly weak team what others also fail to forget is they basically got Lukaku for free given the fact all they did was spend the ridiculous amount of money that they had received from Man Utd. for Fellaini yet again, Oatcake posters seemingly intentionally mis-read a story so they can then have an excuse to slag someone off....let's face it, actually reading the article and seeing it for what it is (i.e. massively sensationalised with a headline mis-representing what he actually said!) wouldn't give them that excuse then would it P.S. presumably both Schurrle and Mata are equally as shit as they were both "fecked off" from Chelsea as well for not being part of Mourinho's plans? the everton fans won't give a shit as they have the brains to actually read and understand the article! Ha seems like SOME (you, just you) Oatcake Posters need to actually READ what has been written before just blindly...well making shit up Never once said he was shit. NOT IN THEIR PLANS...just like Schurrle and Mata but don't let facts get in the way of one of your typical rants aye... Never once said he was shit. in which case, what relevance whatsoever does it have (and therefore did it have) to your post? if it's just a case of those players not being shit but simply they weren't part of chelsea's plans then what point exactly does it make to any other part of your post????

I'm well aware of what the article says and I did read it but as chiefdelilah said it's not a particularly wise thing to say considering the situation Everton are in and the fact he hasn't really delivered You can bet all those in the dressing room had a great laugh about it.

There are a couple on here that see the ill timing but not you. Has he showed the qualities of a top player this season? Not possible he is over egging his potential? Hmmm I bet Chelsea curse the day they milked £28 million out of Everton, yes bet they cried all the way to the bank...oh unless it was that free Fellani money? That doesn't count. Anyway dipshit you're ignoring the shit part? You know the part I didn't fucking write? Your last post makes no sense.

Surely the big question is - do we want him when he's ready to make a step up!

They're thoughts you keep to yourself though I'm sure many stoke players believe similar things, maybe even our own captain. Regardless fans don't like to feel like the club they love is just a stepping stone for a player or manager so Lukaku's comments, while not out of line, were pretty ill-judged.
I personally think he is trying to put himself in the shop window there but that's complete speculation!

Lukaku! The arrogant twat. They've spunked £28 Million on him and he wants to move to a "Top Club"...erm like the one that just fecked you off as you weren't in their plans? Everton fans will be well chuffed with this. What a tosspot. Whoever buys him better as Muniesa to let him out of his pocket first. is it arrogant to say he wants to improve and eventually (the salient word everyone seems to be intentionally missing here) move to a top club? i think that's simply called ambition mate he's a damn good player and if people think he's shit simply because he hasn't scored hatfuls then they've completely misunderstood what his game is about..he does far more for everton that that and recently has been one of their best and most definitely hard working players in a decidedly weak team what others also fail to forget is they basically got Lukaku for free given the fact all they did was spend the ridiculous amount of money that they had received from Man Utd. for Fellaini yet again, Oatcake posters seemingly intentionally mis-read a story so they can then have an excuse to slag someone off....let's face it, actually reading the article and seeing it for what it is (i.e. massively sensationalised with a headline mis-representing what he actually said!) wouldn't give them that excuse then would it P.S. presumably both Schurrle and Mata are equally as shit as they were both "fecked off" from Chelsea as well for not being part of Mourinho's plans? the everton fans won't give a shit as they have the brains to actually read and understand the article! I entirely agree with you that this is a non-story, but I'm afraid your faith in Everton fans is sadly misplaced "Wheres the pie chart highlighting the amount of times hes offside in a game? His ball control ratio? Hes utter pony, unreal weapon has made me fume, would love to 1 bomb his head off." "I've stuck by him until now on account of his age but fuming about that comment. Does he not realize he'll be playing in Turkey by the time he's 27 if he leaves Everton the utter fcking nobhead" "I hate him more than words can express." That's just from the one short page... www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/lukaku.67134/page-731

Isn't this the club where a player nicked the ball off the regular penalty taker, ignored the gripes of team mates before missing said penalty.
He then failed to emerge for the 2nd half.
To say the club is falling apart might not be that far from the truth!

To say the club is falling apart might not be that far from the truth! Yeah but if he'd scored the penno it would have been a goal and that's irrelevant isn't it. You should be applauding him for missing the penalty.
