We've had a few reports of problems using the site on iPad, specifically pages constantly reloading.
Proboards are investigating, but in the meantime if you're viewing the site on the desktop version and getting this issue they are advising you to switch to the mobile version (you should see a link right at the bottom of the screen).
If you use the chatroom though, you'll have to switch back to the desktop version to use it.
Unfortunately this appears to be a problem with the Apple operating system, so we're not that confident that this is going to be resolved. We'll keep you up to date though.

Bummer! This might mean I'll have to revert to reading the Cornflakes box at breakfast, instead of catching up with The Oatcake.

By the way, if anybody has had this problem and is clever enough to have managed to figure out it out, any help or advice would be appreciated.

The page does reload itself from time to time. But it is not an issue.

It's also annoying how the app store often pops up when you open the site in iPhone or iPad. Anyone know how to stop that?

As this is a technical issues thread, can I hijack it slightly to ask a minor question? I swear it used to be that if you were reading a thread here, finished a page and clicked to go onto the next it would load you in at the top of the next page so you could keep reading seamlessly. Now it seems that if you read to the bottom of a page and click through to the next, it leaves you at the bottom of the next page so you have to scroll all the way back to the top to carry on reading. Is this just a problem with my browser and I'm being dim, or is this an issue with the site?

I've just checked it sage and there doesn't appear to be a problem. There is a small 'back to top' link on each post that should, erm, take you back to the top though.

Just press the 'Home' button on your keyboard to get to the top of the page.

Just had a quick search on Google and one suggestion is to go into Settings>Safari>General and turn Open New Tabs in Background OFF.
Some have had success, so it could be worth a try?

Have tried that and it doesn't seem to have had any effect . I've given Chrome another shot , and while it's still apparent ,it's not nearly so bad .
