Are people (including some eminent regulars on this evening's show) still peddling the myth that Ireland lost interest in putting in decent performances once he got his permanent contract following yesterday's performance?

We were average at best yesterday but it's the result that counts, Walters took his 3 goals really well and begovic's kicking looked off

The wind played its part yesterday in the 2 halfs imo although shouldn't be an excuse for the poor 2nd half display. The irony for me was i was disappointed when i heard Crouch wasn't up front before the game and Walters was, what do i know?

Muniesa is quality, will do it all day long. Begovic is all of a sudden a week link, as he is not a footballer.

The thing with a keeper is they play better with a trusted back 4 in front of them and vice versa. The fact that we haven't had a settled back 4 this season could be a factor in Bego's form. He still has to be one of the best keeps in the league though.

The substitutions almost cost us the game. Hughes got it wrong but got away with it.

That's interesting from KKK. I think myself it would be a mistake to let Cameron go.

Lennon - if he does come here then I would like to see a loan
The 2 Barcelona boys? not sure how viable they would be
Lucas Ocampos wants more playing time and Monaco are willing to send him out on loan him if any offers arrive before the close of the transfer window. - know nothing about him but there are players out there who will be available tomorrow.
We don't need to buy for the sake of it or at inflated prices but I would like to see us use our loan opportunity.

Totally agree with Russ in that our whole game now revolves around pace and and intelligent ball passing creative midfielder
Injury to Moses and then we are left with just Diouf with pace who is more of a striker not a wide man
If the club have ambition then we should be able to attract them but we won't pay the money and that is such a shame give clearly what a first class manager and set up we have now

Mark Hughes deserves backing from the board now or in the summer because he has proved that he can get decent players in.Not getting anyone in tomorrow will be a big mistake

Totally agree with Russ. Working to a budget only gets you so far. Proven quality will push you on to the next level. It's all about a balance between picking quality budget players alongside quality players with potential and sell on value.
Southampton are no bigger than us but have invested good money in good players and are still looking at more players in this window.
The impression the club is giving is one of playing at it rather than being serious about it.

It hasn't worked out for Palacios - so a very expensive mistake in many ways However I don't believe we would have signed Crouch without WP in the deal

It's the transfer deadline day of the buying clubs country that is relevant, not the Spanish deadline day, don't think we will sign anyone anyway though.

Slight change to the debate
The loss of Bojan was clearly heartbreaking but one huge boost would be the capture of Moses on a permanent deal
Thoughts as to what it would take to get him ? Is he out of our league financially ?
