Been down the pub following the win, feeling pretty happy. We really should be happy, not only do we have a great team and team ethic most of our players are really model professionals\ great guys. Just list them
Bego Shawcross Pieter's Huth Muni Whelan Walters Crouch Bojan Odemwingie Sorenson
I'd say all of the above are real good eggs and I'm proud to have them. Loving these days, today watching Karl the crab Henry and Clint Hill shows us where we have come from. We are bloody lucky

I honestly think if we could win a cup, it will be our best era ever.

I honestly think if we could win a cup, it will be our best era ever. Totally agree. I was looking at the table on MOTD when it hit me that we are nearer to Champions League qualification than relegation. As someone who has supported this club for 50 years through thin and thinner it is vital that we don't take it all for granted.

Couldn't agree more. When I started going everyone referred to the 70's as our Golden era. If we could win a cup I think we could surpass the 70's era as the financial stability we have now is simply light years ahead of where we were when the roof on the Butler Street blew off. I couldn't be happier. Really looking forward to Blackburn away as my brain is getting cup fever again.

There seems to be a better team spirit and togetherness, and that is priceless. Not so long ago we would perhaps have been charitable to the likes of Rochdale and qpr, but that seems to have been kicked into touch. I have no doubt we may slip occasionally, all teams do. It's a great time to be a stokie

Yes young fans need to really appreciate these times and all we can do is hope that they continue. The key factors in this are obviously the Coates Family and us keeping Mark Hughes.Peter Coates is the best Chairman any club could ever want, he has put the family's money in & made crucially correct decisions regarding our managers.Keeping Mark Hughes is now key as big clubs will start to come in for him sooner or later and we can only hope that he decides to stay with us.I don't think there many clubs he would leave us for certainly in this country.

It's a great time to be a stokie I agree. LMH seems to like playing his best team at all times, which gives us a fighting chance in all competitions.

I also think the opening post is right,
and I hope those qualities are rubbing off on the youngsters and not some of the stamping, diving, and rolling round as though shot.

I agree, except that one post mentions that we are lucky. No we're not, the current success is down to aearth rd work, the right staff and players, and the right decisions from the top.
It's not luck, it's skill and hard work.

Shame there isn't more singing of "Mark Hughes' red and white army". Note: not 'barmy army', that's completely ghey.

I started going to Stoke around 63-64 and the early 70's were the golden years for me and probably all other Stoke fans of my age.
During the dark days of the 80's although my support never wavered I did despair that I would ever see the likes of the 70's side again.
I'm glad to report that I'm beginning to see the signs of a renaissance and I can detect similarities between how we are progressing currently to how things were back then.
As for any mention of luck just remember, the harder you work, the luckier you'll get.
Good times indeed, enjoy them. I just pray that the roof is screwed on more securely nowadays.
Up The Potters, onwards and upwards!
