Howling gale made it a game of two halves. Pitch was very poor as well.
Plus I froze my balls off despite being layered up enough for an Everest expedition.

It really is a poor location for a ground in so many ways. Filling the corners in might, at least, minimise the effects of the wind.

nah, we know what to expect; they dunner; we need any advantage to help us stay in the prem; also, we need to move the away fans away from the entrance- preferably without any cover and in a wind tunnel

I've never liked the Brit since the day it was built. If it were up to me I'd bulldoze the fucker and build another stadium, preferably below 24000 ft

Never seen the pitch cut up like that before. Lumps coming up all over the shop. Seemed a right mess in corner to left of Boothen. What happened there? Did it really need watering before kick off?

we've got more than enough quality in the squad these days and we don't need to think about being helped by poor weather conditions.
frankly, the ground is absolute wank. done on the cheap and already looking past its sell by date. Its pretty shit that you can get a seat in row 8 and get soaked in the rain
Wish we could build a new one where the Victoria ground used to be.

Only our council would have given themselves permission to build it there. It's about the height of the incinerator chimney, without a potential windbreak for miles.

Festival Park (off Forge lane) was the stand out location all though years ago. The Brit seems to get colder and more difficult to get to /park/get away from. Sorry...it's a shithole.

I absolutely love the weather at the Brit, the only thing missing today was some rain to go with the cold wind.

Have any of you ever played Sunday league football? It's simply awful how the wintery conditions are affecting this sport. Something must be done!

with the bad weather of recent i dont think our pitch was all that bad. yes were on high ground, yes were open to the elements ( sideways rain, strong winds ) but we still have a very very good record for our pitch and not having many games postponed for bad weather.
when is the last time a stoke home game has been cancelled for the weather?

I can't believe how windy it is at your ground. I've googled to see why it's always so windy in Stoke but it doesn't say why. It's incredible really

It's incredible really Have a look at height above sea level; there's a reason why a river like the Trent starts up here. We are towards the edge of the Penines but not quite as high up as the moorlands. The tv transmitter tower for the area is about a mile away.

Did twenty years at the vic and dont think i was ever so cold/pissed off with logistics Well the first post stated that the pitch was poor mate, The wind has always been seen as an advantage under the pulis era, pulis didnt want to get the corners filled in and wanted a narrow pitch as he thought it affected the oppositions fancy flow football. Personally i would like to see the corners filled in as we often see a full house and the extra gate fees would pay the building costs off pretty fast. it would make great financial sense in the long run. if a corner created an extra 2000 or possibly more seats at an average of £30 a ticket the club would be making 60k a game per corner filled.

I passed through once, by the bus station actually and got a glimpse of the stadium. It did seem well away into the distance, isolated and quite imposing to be honest. Seems a strange place to have built the stadium, especially with those open corners.
