Football is a team game. He stood out in a very poor team. Real life is different from fifa yknow? Yep, I know the difference. Real life is about being consistent. So, did he "stand out in a poor team" or did he "win" the midfield battle? At first, I thought Whelan had him, but by the time we scored our third, Barton was winning the midfield battle consistently. Easy to hammer a player who doesn't play for you, but I imagine had pulis gone ahead and signed him, he'd have been terrific for stoke.

Barton is and always has been a decent footballer. Played well today I thought. Sadly it's an issue that is rarely discussed when his name is mentioned.

Yes Fer was excellent second half, he ran Whelan ragged, showing again Glenn's weakness, his lack of pace. However QPR's midfield didn't really defend, Ireland had the run of the place

After the third goal, Barton shouted to the left back (who came on for Clint) "you are SHIT!", which was quite amusing

Surprisingly I thought Richard Dunne had a good game. Really? Just goes to show how opinions vary. I thought he was a fat clueless excuse as a footballer He played it round nicely, seemed a lot quicker than he usually is, he also put in a killer ball to Zamora which was beautifully cleared by Muniesa. If Muni didn't win that header I'm sure Zamora would have smashed it past Bego. I don't know, he just caught my eye today.

I thought he was surprisingly below par, to be honest. He really cared and showed a lot of passion, but there was little end-product except for the free-kick.

He's certainly calmed down a bit, he had a decent game, still manages to be first to the ball on many occasions. 3 years ago he'd have walked into our team and been a great signing for us whereas now he'd be fighting with Sidwell for a place on the bench, shows again how good we are these days.

In the first half Barton was absolutely dog shit. He improved slightly in the second half probably because our midfield backed off them and allowed them more room. But the only decent thing he did in the game was that free kick. And Richard Dunne? Christ on a bike, he is just so gash I can't even begin to describe him. QPR are the shitest team we've seen this year and Dunne was one of the stand out shit players.

Barton wasn't useless. We backed off and he prospered from that. Unlucky with the free kick of course
