Really good first half, actually closed players down and great layoffs, but reverted to type second half. Player who hasn't been starting in the league runs his socks off in the first and tires in the second. Acceptable I think but no... Fca calls it "reverting to type"

Started very strongly, unfortunately he faded like a pair of Turkish jeans.

I thought Ireland was excellent the first half, but faded after the break. Give him another match or two and he'll improve.

It might not have been Real Madrid we were facing today, but he still did very, very well and it will give him valuable confidence. The match today was important though as it gave him a chance to regain match fitness in the absence of Bojan. I couldn't believe my eyes for the set-up for the first goal, and the pass for the second goal was sublime. If the pass had been outside the tolerance of an 1/8 flat-hammered pubic hair of a mosquito then Walters wouldn't have received the ball. Getting him match-fit is important now.

He was knackered. Hughes said his Hamstrings were tight at HT.

Great first half, faded in the second and struggled to get into it to the same extent.
If he played like that consistently then he would be pushing Bojan for a place in the team when all are fit.

Has great quality which he showed today but faded badly second half , needs to learn from Bojan and do the work necessary to make the most of his ability

I like him. Needs a good run to get him up to match fitness.
The Baldie Bojan.

Keep him fit and a run of games then we will all see what a clever player he is in that hole.

Great game from Ireland, he's a very different player to Bojan in that he's more pass and move than taking people on or shooting from range - hopefully we'll see them both in the same team next season as they would definitely compliment each other.
