Watford had a man sent off last night after just 28 seconds, but this is by no means a record. Incredibly a player called David Pratt, playing for Bashley v Chippenham, 2008 got his marching orders after just 3 seconds. Must have had a plan to nail opposition straight away.

Didn't Denis Smith get sent off as he was going off for a substitution once?

Didn't Denis Smith get sent off as he was going off for a substitution once? Don't recall that. But wonder how FA rules cover this ......play has stopped and a player being substituted is shown the red card as he walks from the pitch for whatever. Would the substitution be allowed to proceed??

Didn't a fella once get sent off by reacting to the kick off whistle with the words, "Fuck me, that was loud!"

Didn't Denis Smith get sent off as he was going off for a substitution once? John Ritchie got sent off as he went onto the pitch, think it was a German who spat at him so he punched him, something like that if memory serves me well.

Substitution not completed until players have swapped and game live again, so I presume the sub couldn't go ahead..?

Didn't Denis Smith get sent off as he was going off for a substitution once? Seem to recall that was against Burnley in FA cup, though I could be mistaken Think it was a second booking for time wasting which was bizarre given that we were losing at the time Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards

I've got a vague memory from a game v Wolves, I think Andy Gray was playing for them so early 80's, a Wolves player hacked one of ours down and injured himself. He was being stretchered off when the ref sent him off and they weren't allowed to bring on the sub they'd lined up.
I am old and senile and may have dreamed all that
