Good solid pro and a trojan for us - Got stick when played over and over even when badly out of form - not his fault at all (certain capped one manybe?)
been superb for us this season actually - long may it continue !
not far off 50 goals too - way to go SJW !

Consummate professional, solid player and a top lad.
Never let the club down, and that is as high praise as anyone can get.

He does like a cup goal does Johnny. Which makes me wonder who our all time top FA Cup scorers are?

There was a time in the second half of last season when it looked like Walters couldn't cut it as a player in what Hughes was looking to do at Stoke. Pace, mobility and skill was what was needed; working 'ard no longer enough. SJW looked lost. Everything broke down or slowed down when he got the ball. Most folk, including Jon himself I suspect, foresaw a season either mainly on the bench or a departure.
Huge credit to the man then for stepping up this season. Gone (mostly!) is the ponderous, uncertain player he was for parts of last season. Instead we've got a gem.

Well played Super Jon.
Thankfully football's still a team game and every team can use a grafter like Jon.
Whoever we play he will give them a tough afternoon.
Somehow he kind of epitomises our battling spirit and another bargain Premier League player.

I've given Walters plenty over his ability during the years but I admire his attitude, commitment, work rate and professionalism. He's also very good at representing the club on radio and TV.
A brace is in order tomorrow, and I think he'll score at least one.
Congrats SJW.

Yes. A few years ago I was on his back, but you cannot fault his attitude, and he seems to love it at Stoke, which is a good thing. His fitness looks to be top notch this season, and as someone has already said, he represents Stoke well when doing interviews. I really, really hope he scores tomorrow. He deserves a really great round of applause tomorrow, irrespective of the end result!

This has been quite comfortably his best season as a Stoke player.
He's a credit to himself and the club.
