Would be an absolute class signing. No Bojan, but about the only player we can get with the same passing range and ability.

Merge the two threads, but yep, amazing... would be a great signing.

Smells of an Eidur Gudjohnsen deal to me!! If, and it is a huge IF, he gets back into some kind of form and fitness circa 2010, then great; if not..............

Seem to be quite a few links popping up. Looks like the making of an interesting deadline day.

...and once again proves that when its transfer time with Stoke, expect a name that has not been mentioned at all!

Yeah he's been shite in Germany all be it for a shite side. 18 month deal? 6 month deal? Worth a shot.........probably. Smile, though your heart is aching. Bayern in "player might be ok" shocker. It's very short but that's what we'll need him for. I aren't fully convinced but it's a better link than I was expecting.

Unlikely I would have thought, but he does have a reputation for starting off well for a new club and tailing off.
On loan until the end of the season would be decent.

This has got "gazumped by Harry Redknapp on transfer deadline day" written all over its face.

The 'expert' in question, Warren Haughton, has been asked about it on twitter. To be honest, whenever I've heard him on Talksport on the Hawksbee and Jacobs show he seems to know the square root of sod all. If he is in the know, he certainly keep it very well hidden!

£1-2M + a two-year-contract I would say yes! Anything more expensive and I would say no!

Always remember his last minute equaliser against us the other season with his fookin head which was probably the only time he ever scored with it

Great signing if it came about but where does that leave Ireland and where does it leave VDV when Bojan comes back. Hughes is building a squad and he expects players to do a job when injuries come the teams way. We have done well without Bojan and we will do again. If it was a six month loan deal, fair enough but we shouldn't be adding to the wage bill when there are capable players waiting for their chance to shine.

Slight upgrade on Charlie Adam in my opinion, not a replacement for bojan

Anything to this, or is someone just flapping their cocksucker? Is that an American euphemism.

He's been poor since he left Spurs.
He was pretty poor for the majority of his time at Spurs too. Linked up well with Crouch at times though
Didn't 'Arry get rid of Crouch (to us) because he felt the two of them didn't work together due to neither of them having any pace?

Yeah, that'd be a nice replacement, he was quality a few seasons back, not really seen him since Sours but I'd be happy to see him have a go for us.

I would wet my pants if this happens. Why, is he really that good anymore? Was he even that good at Spurs? I'm not so sure. I don't even know who he plays for now.

I'd like to think we'll give Ireland a proper go however one guy who'd be a great short term solution would be Landon Donovan. Where's he playing at the mo?

He seems to have gone off the boil at Hamburg but Bojan had at Barca and Odemwingie had at Cardiff so if Hughes decides he wants Van der Vaart then I'm happy.
