There's a report today that Bojan is having his operation in Barcelona. Danny Higginbotham also pointed out the other night that he had to do some work on his knee pre-op to strengthen it before surgery, so that suggests that he hasn't had surgery yet. I also think the machine he's attached to in that photo is helping to reduce the swelling around his knee, but I may be wrong there. I wondered what that was. Thanks for the insight. I hope it's in Barcelona and not on the bloody NHS.

One of the sources that broke news of the extent of his injury hours before Stoke or the local media have tweeted the same. They also said the injury is not as bad as it could have been, Which translates to "Mundo Deportivo reported today that Bojan will be operated in Barcelona. Also, luckily, the injury is not as severe as it could have been." Mate just keep digging.

Yes good to see him smiling This is the caption under the photo Stoke's former Barcelona forward Bojan Krkic is out for the season after undergoing knee surgery Surprised the surgery has already taken place? Yes, and Hughes said earlier that nothing had been sorted yet. This could make or break the lads career, someone mentioned Shearer did his in '92? Well I'd go try find that exact same surgeon. Dr Richard Steadman was the leading knee specialist/repairer of Cruciate Knee ligaments back then. Based in the States if I remember correctly.

I would guess that means they can repair the existing ligament rather than it being completely ruptured and they have to graft from another tendon. Can mean a massive difference in the chance of a full recovery. Dr Cheekymatt71 in da house

I'm sure they know who the best people are without me having to tell them! I'm not so sure mate. You go tell them anyway. I did have to explain the rules of the transfer window and squad naming process to John Rudge some time ago which had some very surreal consequences. Medically, I can't quite offer the same expertise and am sure the club will know who best to use for the operation. I imagine Bojan himself will have some say in the matter and will use someone who has successfully operated on a former team-mate, maybe even Marc Muniesa who has had cruciate injuries to both knees!
