After todays traumatic events, will it impact how Sparky sets up?
At home against a team that struggles away with performances and goals
Personally I would go to a 442 on Sat, get Diouf straight back in
Bego GCam Shawx Phil Muni Arnie Whelan Nzonzi Moses Walters/Crouch Diouf
Prob start SJW as the worker but deffo up front
We have to make the running at home, save the 4-5-1 counter attack for away and better teams at home who come onto us

There's a match thread somewhere, merge it admin. QPR couldn't handle Crouch. Ireland and Adam job share for me.

You would play Wilson at left back after a bit of another average performance last night? And drop big Phil?
Wow

Begovic Bardsley Ryan The Wolf Muniesa Whelan N'Zonzi Arnie Diouf Moses Crouch No place for Walters despite his form? At home against QPR I can't justify omitting any of those XI players for him - horses for courses. Having said that, if Diouf isn't available to start, I probably wouldn't start Crouch but go with Ireland behind Walters, it's all about the right blend.

We're fortunate that we still have options really. Moses is probably the second name on the team sheet at the moment but I don't think Walters is far behind. We definitely lack something when he isn't involved. Whether it's up front or on the right is another matter but for me he simply has to start

Nowt against Walters, but I prefer Crouch up front with Moses and Diouf behind him. Wasn't it in the QPR away game that they seemed to link up very well?

We won't be hitting QPR on the break but rather it will be up to us to try and unlock a side playing for a draw. Against that type of opposition Crouch can hold up the ball and has the necessary guile to put Moses, Diouf and Arnie in. But as I said I wouldn't start Crouch unless Diouf is available. Away from home it'd be a different strategy and different personnel, where I think Walters' qualities are more necessary.

Hughes will start Crouch at the weekend for his hold up play, I feel, with Diouf at best on the bench after a long journey back. I reckon he will play Walters behind him to give us some energy and drive in there, as Ireland is still not totally convincing and Adam is way down the pecking order with the manager.
Begovic
Bardsley Shawcross Wollscheid Wilson
Whelan Sidwell (N'Zonzi if totally fit)
Arnautovic Walters Moses
Crouch
