As with lots of surveys, the relevance of a lot of the questions has absolutely no bearing on the stated objective of the survey. What the hell has marital status, number of kids or income got to do with reason for attending a football match? I was close to non completion and abandoning the survey because of some of the questions and just put random information where I didn't appreciate the question. You should give people the option to opt out of questions they feel are irrelevant or personal, otherwise you'll find people will abandon the survey or provide inaccurate information.

I presume since the surveyor has a PHD to write he is hoping to arrive at something more sophisticated than to simply trot out a list of reasons people might attend a football game. Instead he may be trying to understand if those reasons differ according to people's individual situation and indeed stage of life and arrive at some meaningful conclusions. If it is the first of those then he probably going to fail

Just done it, And personal reasons is the main reason why some may or may not attend. As with me it's because I have my daughter so I am limited to when I can go

Whilst on the subject of constructive criticism, I believe you meant to say "..... let everyone know you're an insufferable......" Thank you for your feedback.

Done pal. It'll be interesting to read in your PhD how many Stoke fans entered 'strongly agree' as to whether the sexual appeal of their team's players influence them to attend matches.
BOJAN LOVERS COME FORWARD.

I would be pretty sure that he had the questions approved by his supervisor before publishing the questionnaire. Only he and the supervisor really know what he was trying to find out. A PhD is a pretty significant piece of work which has to "make a significant contribution to the existing body of knowledge" in order to be awarded.

I have completed it. I have used it more as a survey to state my reasons for never, ever attending PL football games whilst remaining a fan of my club.
