Get that corner filled in !!!!!! You're not going to let this go, are you? I have to check every thread, whatever the title, to see how you manage to get it in there? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif)

Last year after 22 games: 22 Points, -14 Goal Difference, 4 points clear of relegation zone This year after 22 games: 29 Points, -4 Goal Difference, 10 points clear of relegation zone ![(bravo)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/aX_EnhrKOKv0Zc_aN8eF.gif) Yep, and MH teams always get stronger in the second half of the season

If we could replicate that this season..... ![(thumbsup)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/q4Mqf5MqRwT9PY8UitYa.gif)

We might not be European competition material but we do seem to have cemented that place that Wigan held for so many seasons. Comfortable mid table but with early protection from relegation. I feared for us with that difficult Christmas schedule but our return has been excellent and then we win our first "easy"game ![:))](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/jitsPgqXBozY69AOPrPg.gif)

Looking pretty healthy now. Could be a comfortable run-in to May after this real spurt over Christmas/January.
I'd take 10th all day - but at least we've given ourselves a shot at improving on last season, which would be an outstanding achievement if we could do it

With position that we are in at the moment the team should be aiming for 8th place. I think that is a realist target and keeps us looking to push on. Of cause I think the club and fans would be happy to take 10th.

I'm more than confident that we'll overtake Swansea in the final table, now they've sold Bony. Newcastle remain rudderless so we'll finish above them as well. Will Everton's season turn around-I'm no so sure, so our next target is whether we can catch West Ham. Again, the Southern press in particular have been positively drooling over the 'fantastic' passing game that Allardyce has introduced as his Plan B this season, which in my opinion is an absolute myth, as they lead the 'goals from headers' table this season!

Perhaps some of the fucking retards on here might just start giving the manager a bit of credit. Certain ones won't.

I expect whu to fall further although they will be competing with us, lots of people seem to be writing Swansea off after 1 defeat to the best team in the league. They seem to find great players time after time and if they find the correct replacement for bony they challange us all the way to the end. Sent from my C6603 using proboards

Very strange - it does no feel like we have really pulled up any trees as such except perhaps Man City where we were better than the 1 0 and of course Arse at home
Bloomin marvellous all things considered
Just hope either now or the summer the board back him now most of the deadwood has been shifted

For Hughes to achieve what he has so far on an absolute shoe string budget AND with an horrendous injury list this season is something quite phenomenal.

And we haven't really put anything like a good run together. Just do with some good results now over the next four or five games to consolidate top half place, then go for the highest place we can go for. ![(thumbsup)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/q4Mqf5MqRwT9PY8UitYa.gif)

Yes, it's wonderful.
Give the next 5 games, other than Citeh, all are potentially winnable (QPR, Villa & Hull) at least.
Another 10 points in the bag by the end of Feb and we can fully concentrate on a cup run!

Why not higher than 8th. We have Chelsea to play away but no other teams away from home should be feared given how we have started to play on the road. We have Spurs Man City and Liverpool at home, all of which we can give as good as we get. Take those out and we have 14 games we should get points from, even more so if MH can pull off another Odemwingie style signing this month. Onwards and upwards.
