Big day ahead. Beat them and I'm doubling the coins per goal, in the Euro saving fund jar. Draw and we're still on course for a second half of the season flourish. A loss is not contemplatible. 6 pointer not. But it means a hell of a lot. I think we're going to stuff them. Ryan will score.

Stoke 1 v 1 Man Utd Clattenburg Fergie Rooney etc.
Battling display with moments of incisive beauty from Stoke. Made them look like an expensively assembled TP team. Bloody frustrating but don't think we could have done much more. Ran at them screaming and controlled the first half, Eric Pieters! Second half they took off Fellaini and changed tack, we rolled with the punches and still chucked a few jabs. If Imbula had got his legs in the correct order me head would have come off. The atmosphere was immense, hair on the back of me neck etc..tear in me eye for the full time clap around..... Ultimately frustrating, emotional, I'm sure I'll drink through it.

Stoke 1 v 1 Everton Crouch's 100th.. Should've could've done 'em. Another one of them draws that so easily could have been a win. Arnie missed a couple of sitters with his wrong legs. Charlie with a looping long ranger. Had the majority of play other than a brief spell when Allen went off. Their goal an own/controversial offside thing in off Shawcross. They offered little else, a bit cheaty with Grant pulling off a blinder to avoid the injustice. Good game. Another good performance.

West Brom 1 v 0 Stoke
Oh ffs... terrible theatre and expectation once again built up for a tilt against a TP team. We've been fairly terrible and generally either froze or ended up frustrated and men down in the LMH/TP face offs. Different story today in me boozed up pub goggles perspective. A bit lame first half swishing it about. Second half stepped up and bested 'em. Always a threat on a set piece and on the counter with their quarterbacks, but we snuffed them out. Bruno was especially superb. And chucked Diouf, N'\goy, Berahino on to finish off. We live to fight another day.. a bit of mock depression for the night. A bit of beef stew later and I'll be rayt.
Great tune.

Stoke 1 v 0 Crystal Palace {Joe Allen}
Yesssss relief, a comfortable and controlled win against historically awkward adversaries, five straight defeats on the bounce against them. They were a disjointed and wounded Eagle, but with enough zazz in the ranks to cause difficulties. Shawcross and Bruno rolled and marshalled Benteke and they were left virtually inert. Had several chances to properly put them to the sword, had a smack of the WBA game first half, missed chances and that, but our football had more fizz than last week, it's easy to drop yer guard in such games, we didn't. They had a bit of a spell when we switched wingers etc second half, the oppo's will always have a spell, but they never looked unduly threatening, it was a bit more corner practice for us. Some lovely 'triangles', interchanges and probing and so on. Some mercurial madness from Arnster, Pembroke Terrier stuff from Joe, Whelan breaking out of the cage snapping and pressing higher up. Again just lacked that clinical edge, which could have turned it into a rout, but very happy with that. Nice response to last week with a two week re group ahead. 9th ffs
Heard this through the tannoy pre kick off. That and a nip of sloe gin set me rayt up.

Like the look of Ramadan Cool assist. Very different conditions to what he faced the last few weeks. Showed maturity, didn't seem phased. Couldn't resist.

Spurs 4 v 9 Stoke. {Typo}
not worthy of over analysis, bossed and bost us. Grant pulled off a couple of breathtaking saves that didn't count. Ramadan looks like a real dude. A bright spark today. Bit of a shambles with sand in the shoes.. I'm mostly listening to Bhangra to drive away the Blues.
But this for now...
I'll recover.

Stoke 2 v 0 Boro {Arnie 2}
Brilliant game aided by the fact that I managed to smuggle the bigger hipflask in and the half time Balti Chicken pie was both warm enough and beautiful. Big shouts for Whelan, Cameron, and everyone bar Johns. But he wasn't costly so he can be allowed a bad one if eveyone else fires the way they did. Another potentially difficult opposition put in their place, footballed into the relegation zone. Should have been seven in my reckoning.... One for the future. "I Just Don't Think You Understand, We can't Eat Pies, We Can't Drink Beer, because we're all lovin Ramadan. OOOOooooooh... I just don't think you understand......"

Stoke 1 v 2 Chelsea {F'cking Willian free kick telegraphed to the near post, SJW penalty, and a scrappy corner Eric tee up for their other one. Boooooooooooooooo}
Gutted and have had to sit in a darkened room to get over it. We caused them loads of problems in a hard fought competitive game. I don't think we were overly physical, certainly not outside the normal realms of nogger, even Premiership football but yet again a team attempts to stifle the job with cynicism etc. Fuck 'em. Problem is again we caused ourselves two more problems than we did them. That sustained bit of pressure late on second half, a succession of corners and balls across just about sums up the season. Lack that killer instinct to propel us to Europe. Nevertheless it's pleasing to see us give it to the big boys. Allen, Cameron, Bruno, Ramadan, Grant's shot stopping and general keeping all outstanding, loads of positives to bring away.. The feeling of deflation is perhaps compounded by the Toffee and Bromwich results. But fuck me....
Harumph...
Still too glooomy to face the Doom metal in Stoke. Sure I'll get o'er it.

[/quote] That's brill I always like this filthy skit they did with George Melly. Complex band, still touring though I'm not all that arsed without Cornwell. B side of the Dionne Warwick cover I bought ex-jukebox from a newsagent thing where Harley's is in Shelton. The jukebox in the Black Horse had rejected all the Punk to there. Rich pickings with brand new Clash and Ruts and stuff...etc

Best post Beatles song? Great tune but a massive shout perhaps worthy of a thread of it's own {and maybe include George Martin}. Ignoring all the great post Beatles Macca stuff for a moment. I like this a lot. Strummer and Jones must have been listening.
