Thought he did brilliantly coming on, gave the team a real push, didn't pass every ball out wide (we wasted far too many attacks persistently trying to get it out wide IMO) and looked threatening with crosses and a good shot. Shame he's from Paul Scholes' tackling academy mind.

Shame he's from Paul Scholes' tackling academy mind. He was lucky his attempt to elbow the guy on the touchline did not receive more attention.he tried to elbow him twice. You could argue he was just being forceful in trying to shield the ball but it didn't look good on TV replays and seemed unnecessary.

He seems to have an interest in those white rectangular things at either end of the pitch that his colleagues are allergic to. Great little cameo and showed up some of those who started.

It's just a shame that he isn't as professional as he could be, because if he was fitter than a lager lout that looks like he has had 26 Christmas dinners he'd be quite some player for 90 minutes, as opposed to 10 minute cameo's against tired legs.

Always liked Adam. I think it's his Haggis belly, downhill running into the box and that cracking shot. Something no other Stoke player is able to provide. Care free direct attacking! I think he needs more game-time coming in like that if were stagnant. Good pro on his day. Did well for us and got the crowd out of their slumber.

The fat fucker is a disgrace. I like him but he's not fit and he's looking to be sent off every game - those two elbows were ridiculous.
I said on another post - if he had started we would of lost by 6 and ended with 10 men.

Wasn't hopeful after his recent showing but honestly thought he'd score soon after he came on. Really livened up our play and was unlucky that shot just swerved wide.

He's great to bring on for half-an-hour when we need a goal. Briliant display last night.

Reckon he could be one for the off in January? He's never been a regular in his three seasons here and he could probably get more game time elsewhere. I like him but he's certainly one you have to accommodate for rather than someone who just fits in.

The game changed massively when Charlie came on.
He hunted and demanded the ball and then used it well.
He was a real threat last night.

Brilliant player to bring on when we're a goal down. Played well last night.

As I keep saying, he's always dangerous
Dangerous to the opposite team in that he's always looking forward and if he's within 30 yards a goal threat, some of his long passes last night were incredible too
Dangerous to us in that he was a fucking liability, he's extremely lucky his elbow on Schurrle (I think) didn't connect, it wasn't a flailing army it was a full on nasty elbow and easily a red card had the Chelsea player made a meal of it (to his credit he didn't), it if had connected it could have been a Ben Thatcher ban

I totally agree. We looked like a different team when he came on, and you could tell that he ruffled their feathers and they didn't like it. For a so called fat ****** who can't move, amazing how he seems to always be able to get himself into space and threatening areas of the pitch. Before he came on, we were a very easy to team to play against.

His cross field ball from left to right was worth the ticket money alone. He is an enigma though for sure.

He's a fat bastard who is wasting his considerable talent. He jus cannot be trusted to play for 90 minutes. It's a massive shame because he really makes a difference.

Should always start against teams from the lower half of the table, and play the last 25 minutes at home against any team.

When he comes on he really takes the game to the opposition and provides a goal threat with his shooting and also his good crossing and passing ability. But fuck me at times he looks like a drunk who's won a raffle to get on the pitch, the attempted elbows and the hacking down of the player (Schurle?) when the ball went out was so bad it was comical.

For a supposed slow bugger with not a lot of tricks he finds it easy to go past players in the middle of the pitch.
Much prefer that to the constant sideways passing that Cameron and Nzonzi displayed in the whole game to the double-marked wingers on either flank.
Nzonzi has the ability to do it, he just refuses and takes the safe option whenever its available.

Nzonzi has, this season, driven forward far more.Could still do more in this regard however he has changed his mentality.
re Adam: who is everyones favourite attacking Stoke player of the last 10 years (even excluding Bojan as its early days)? Fuller obviously. Fuller had plenty of self induced red cards e.t.c.,despite all those he was well worth persevering with. We should view Adam in a similar vein.

None of our other midfielders come remotely near his ability to change games.

I actually thought Arnie was decent mostly (with some howlers thrown in) & not helped at all by Piters who doesn't seem himself currently. However as Pwingy says Assaidi was good.got a good cross & a decent shot in. Can Ossie do it for 90 minutes/from the off or only against tired legs?
