Bloody hell they are good at winning games, they've really got that ruthlessness. Felt like nothing we could do tonight was likely to stop that after going behind so early but all the same we gave it a cracking good go second half, Leslie's team talk and the way he set us up were quality. Although on paper it was an easy win for them, in terms of our season tonight def wasn't a backward step for me.
8* from me

I maybe would've given Assaidi a bit longer - other than that 7/10

8 out of ten. They humped us in the first half but in the second we were much better. Unfortunately they know how to defend and we didn't have enough guile to unlock them. Subs didn't contribute too much but then they were, really, never going to; were they?
There have been worse games at home than this; Leicester, Burnley, Villa. We weren't embarrassed tonight and should put it behind us and look forward to the next game.

Hardly a "quality" set up. It was a fairly predictable set up wasn't it? We barely created one chance in 95 minutes. Hard to give him more than a 5. Chelsea didn't need to get out of second gear at any stage.

5* A total non event. Possession is only good if you do something with the ball in an attacking sense. We only woke up when Charlie came on.
And the defensive frailties are very concerning regardless of the opposition.
Take ryan, Nzonzi and bojan out of the squad and we would be in deep trouble.

Would have preferred the team that finished the game than the one we started with ...6.5

How much money has Hughes had to spend and how much did Pulis squander on inappropriate players? We aren't a top six side and never will be unless some very serious money is spent and I don't see that happening any time soon. I really don't think we are doing too badly under the circumstances

Just want a bit of pride and passion from the current incumbents irrespective of where we are in the league. If we went down with all guns blazing then I would happily accept it. As you say some investment is required but it will be interesting to see if LMH is given any funds to add quality to our possession.

I think they all tried but unfortunately some of them just weren't good enough. That, in itself, is no reason to write them off, its just how it is. We are a mid table side and with any luck might end up a top half team but we will always be a mixed bag of a bit of talent and a majority of journeymen and "dogs home hopefuls"

No more than 5 a front three with no pace was never going to be a problem for a team as good as them add to that trying to out pass them and another soft set play goal conceded he has to take some responsibility . Then picking Cameron , make that a four

Would have preferred the team that finished the game than the one we started with ...6.5 spot on. Cameron was understandable - but we had no outlet and no pace, diouf and assaidi should have started.

3* We have no fight in the team (except for short periods), we are shit at set pieces both attacking and defending and he makes his subs way too late unless they are forced upon him. To stand and watch any oppo pass the ball about for about 3 mins without a touch is not on. GET A FUCKIN FOOT IN!!!!!!!!

6 Team selection was ok and subs albeit his usual late introduction was spot on....but defending of set pieces is now becoming a joke and I am not sure its solely down to the players. We have decent defenders so sort it out Sparky or add a defensive coach to your team who can organise them.

Well I slept on it and thought did I watch a totally different game, juding from these scores, and still don't feel like I did. This is a blindingly good Chelsea team we're talking about, we're aspiring to be a good footballing mid-table side - but right now we're the side who couldn't beat relegation probables at home. Yes we were dozy at the very start but I'll stick to my score, not just on the basis of the second half but the fact that we got to HT without them scoring more.

Against Chelsea Whelan should certainly have started to provide solidity in the centre. Cameron was never going to get the space he needs. The two changes made to the team which had just won and drawn the last two games made no sense. Huth has been on the bench enough to suggest that he must be fit, so he surely has to be started. Just a 6*.

I'd give 7.
They are a top team that has everything better than us in Every department which a Billion pounds would do and in parts I thought we played well.
Unlucky not to equalise 2nd half and we had them penned in at times..
I wouldnt play Arnie again he just wants to do everything in a cocky show boating kind of way which never comes off and his final ball is past pathetic now.
So -1 for Arnie. -1 for no Diouf we need pace. -1 for set play debacles in Both Boxes.

Yes Sal, some of the marks on here are laughable. We were playing the side which are comfortably the best in the league who even by their manager's comments, had a good day. The only chance we had if pretty much the whole of our team had a really good day, while Chelsea were below par. 7 from me. Not too many complaints with the team selection. Subs were correct (except I'd have taken off Walters instead of Arnie). Sometimes we have to stop trying to find someone to blame when you lose against a bloody good team on form.

Should have started Diouf
Should have subbed off Walters when Assaidi came on

Watched the game on television, thought Stoke did really well, physically strong and competitive.
You could tell by the reaction of the Chelsea team and staff how relieved they were to get the three points.
The Chelsea team that started the game cost £190m in transfer fees compared to Stoke's £29.5m, Costa at £32m, Fabregas at £30m, Hazard at £32m and Willian at£30m individually cost more than the whole Stoke team.
8.5

You agenda ridden barsted Strange how you pair were nowhere to be seen on this thread when we beat Arsenal. Arsenal, that team we've knobbed at the Brit for as long as I can remember in the premier league. Not those with an even softer underbelly than us, surely not. Fcuk me if that's the best you've got no wonder you never reply back to the posts that I've quoted and replied back to of yours. Edit - you really must try harder next time.
