Thought he was awful tonight. He wined, moaned and complained about everything whilst, at the same time was really dirty towards several Stoke players. Glad he didn't score !!

There's no way he's 26, he looks like a scrotum on a warm day.

That's because Ryan had him in his pocket all night. Brilliant display from our Captain. I thought Ryan played him pretty well tonight but in reality what a player he is. Sometimes, you just have to acknowledge a good player when you see one; even if he doesn't play for your team. He's as hard as fuck, gives as good as he gets and is ruthless. he will score a bag full. I remember seeing another player just like him.... I think his name was Mark Hughes....

Complete prick. He has the makings of a player I could quite like if he didn't bitch and moan about everything when quite happily dishing it out. How Pieters got booked and he didn't I'll never know.

Does it every week. Gets under the defenders skin and tries to knock them off their game. I'd love him upfront for us

American tv showed him stamping on Ryan's foot. Then said he had done well if the ref had not seen it (or chose to ignore it).

I thought he played very well. Wasn't intimidated by any physicality (looked like he was enjoying it ) and held the ball up well. Also went past a few defenders and unlucky not to score

His little mini drama would have been quite entertaining if it wasn't an exhibition of blatant cheating.
Time and time again he would try to get in Ryan's face and wind him up and Ryan would just laugh him off and put him on his arse.

Oily little cunt, very glad to see the ref not buying his shit.
Credit to Neil S... how often will I ever say that?

All forwards are taught to step back on defenders toes so that's nowt new.
What I liked tonight was ryan roughing him up because I think Costa could see the red mist at any time. Ryan was solid tonight I thought.

I always liked the fact he could be a little shitbag to other teams, but now being on the receiving end of it I hate the prick.

Brilliant tussle with Ryan over 90 minutes. Probably ended up all square as Costa dd get opportunities but Ryan played a £40million forward well.
Interesting quote from Hughes after the game
"He's quite prepared to protect himself and look after himself - sometimes fairly, sometimes not. I wasn't adverse to that myself so you can't criticise that too much."
If we had that kind of player we'd have 8 more points.

He didn't do anything bad in my eyes. Some people take a dislike to opposition players just because they're better than ours

At first I felt the same, but then I thought if we had a player like him we would love it. He's physical, a prolific finisher (although he didn't show it yesterday), does the nitty gritty, and gets under player's skin. Now I think he's brilliant

He didn't seem to like any physical contact whatsoever! For such a physical player, it was weird. Yeah - Shawcross couldn't have done much more to impress Uncle Woy - if he could tear himself away from Coronation Street as I don't suppose he'd venture this far north on a Monday night.

Don't worry he is a Cardiff fan and is still licking his wounds after a home defeat to Brentford.

It's more a testament to how well Ryan coped with him. Costa is an excellent player, a massive cunt, but a great talent.

Shawcross didn't have him in his pocket at all.
If Costa's two clear chances had resulted in goals we'd be slagging Shawcross off.
