I'd be tempted to start Arni for Diouf, but weather forecast says we need "heavyweights". Bojan is a must on current form but might struggle in the conditions.
Bego
Bardsley Shawcross Muniesa Pieters
Nzonzi Cameron
Walters Bojan Diouf
Crouch

I've never understood why some people think that wet and windy conditions require a bigger, more powerful starting eleven. Often a smaller, better balanced player excels in those conditions.

You could well be right Lakeland, Stoke used to water the pitch on a Friday night before a home match to give Stan a better chance of outplaying the opposition. If there was then rain before the match it wasn't unknown for it to be postponed!

I don't know what it is, but I've got an awful feeling about today.... Could it be that we're playing the premier league leaders and arguably the best and strongest team in the league?

Reality says 2-1 to them, prayer mat says 2-1 to us.
If we put up a good show and pinch a point I'll be happy but I do worry that their players will be blown over in our box by this wind.

No, normally I'm non plussed.... Thinking positively and that we can get up at them and get a result! If we don't then I'm not particularly bothered as we are expected to lose..... But today... I can't shake the nagging feeling that we are possibly going to get "caught with our pants down".

I know we have moved on from Bonus Game mentality but tbh I'm treating it as such Can we win or draw? Of course we can. Not remotely concerned by prospect of losing this game though. Just want a good game with a good Stoke performance to take onto the other xmas games (all of which we have good chance of wins from).

Not heard that one before Joe. There again, you did say we'd get stuffed by the Arse the other week. How were you feeling when that fourth goal went in before it was disallowed?

Begovic Bardsley Shawcross Muniesa Pieters Geoff N'Zonzi SJW Bojan Arnie Diouf Subs: Butland Huth Adam Whelan Ireland Assaidi Crouch This would be my team, as Arnie is showing glimpses of a return to form and, as we are likely to be counter-attacking at home tonight, Diouf's pace is probably going to be useful against the less than swift Terry and Cahill.

Just hope it's the good Stoke that turn up tonight.
Oh, and a decent ref.
Then, who knows...
(Don't know if Costa is fit but, if so, him and Ryan will be a major factor in the game - be smart, skipper, he's one snide bastard).

IMO the result will turn on whether Chelsea "turn up" for a battle.
I just hope Stoke give a good account of themselves and no more injuries or bookings.
I wonder whether MH will give a surprise team selection tonight?
