Great feature on Stoke just now about Stoke and in particular Shawcross and Crouch.
Ryan's interview was magic.
"They don't like us and we don't like them".
You don't need me to tell you which club he was talking about! :-)
It made for superb viewing!

Makes you proud he wears our red & white. It's been a pleasure to watch him grow, literally & physically, into the magnificent, never say die defender he is today. That shot of him running back to clear the ball off the line................!! Absolutely priceless.

When you watch an interview like that with Ryan there is very little in it that suggests he is likely to up sticks and move to somewhere like Rome. It just doesnt seem a part of his character. My thoughts are its either Manchester or staying put with us for the bloke.

Best I've ever seen Ryan come across. I think he's accepted the situation and has developed a superb couldn't give a fuck attitude.

Best I've ever seen Ryan come across. I think he's accepted the situation and has developed a superb couldn't give a fuck attitude. Spoke like the Senior statesman that he is and came across fantastically well. It is ridiculous really because he's just a player at our club but I feel as proud of Ryan and the way he's developed at our club (from boy to man to leader...from raw centre half to superb centre half to one of the best centre halves of any nationality in the country) as I would either of my own two boys. He's one of us and it feels great to say that knowing it is very true as well. I hope he never leaves but if he ever does he will go with my very best wishes and heartfelt thanks.

I hope he stays here for his whole career. My favourite player now and ever to be honest!
I remember when he first signed on loan, some poster with an Italian sounding name "broke" the news a couple of hours before it was announced and understandably everyone was saying "Who?". Who could've predicted what an amazing player he'd become for us?

What was the panel view ? Think it was Merson who said the likes of Cahill get to play with another top quality defender alongside them but Ryan doesn't have that luxury. He should be in the England squad (along with Crouch and would be if he played for Liverpool ) That was the jist of it

Just wait until Tazi sees how happy Ryan is He won't be happy I tell yer ( smiley ) Especially with Ryan having a slight dig at TP with regards to he's allowed to play more football under Hughes, expected to play out from the back and it has improved his game

What was the panel view ? Merson and Thompson both said he should be in the England set up. When asked how he compared to Cahill, Thompson said Cahill was quicker across the ground but that there was little between them and Merson said that Cahill looks better because he has a better partner. He concluded by saying that Ryan wouldn't look out of place in Chelsea's side. The whole panel commented glowingly on his honesty. The whole panel also unanimously agreed that if Crouch wore a Liverpool shirt instead of a Stoke one, he would still be in the England squad.

Top man Ryan. Summed the Arsenal thing up perfectly. Sounded more like a supporter than a player. He gets it.

Slightly gay comment but whatever, I'm amongst friends. Is it just me who thinks Ryan has got really good looking over the last few years? Even when he was like 22 or 23 he was fairly bosted.

Wouldn't you just love your daughter to come in one day, after you've sunk a few jars, and say, 'Dad, I'd like you to meet Ryan, he's my boyfriend. ' He's a bloody great lad, and a credit to football, as well as Stoke City.

Unfortunately for us I think the footballing world is becoming aware of what we've known for years.
Ryan Shawcross is a top class. Top class defender. Top class captain. Top class character.

Very impressive honest interview. Says it how it is. Even admitting to not liking animals( a diddy little hedgehog) that much, you wouldn't know he was fearless on the pitch after hearing that. Take a bow, Ryan Shawcross.

Interesting how the media seems to be waking up to the supposed Renaissance of our Ryan. No doubt it is totally coincidental to Woy turning up at the Brit to watch the ox, chambers etc.Drove from the Deep South to Northern Ireland today, with five live to keep me awake.the only thing that kept me from falling asleep at the wheel was Bob Mills on fighting talk. Ryan to play for England?to captain England at the next World Cup and to be transferred to Liverpool, arsenal or manure, where he would be guaranteed an England place regardless. Now that's comedy

You would expect that bog standard fare jamo. Its code for "Hughes is a wanker and I want out" apparently. Better to see things that aren't there in disappointed comments made the immediate aftermath of a home defeat where Ryan himself didn't play well.

Similar to Muniesa and Bojan's bog standard praise of the manager.
