Remember him ? Now at the chicken factory in Blackburn after starting well and tailing off at Leicester following his move from us.
I seem to remember lots of talk on here about him at the time ( I think he came from Crewe with Lund and then did well on loan)and if Tone was right to take the Leicester money and run. I think it was because he did not like the contract on offer but am happy to be corrected in a non s&m way.
Still only 23, according to press reports West Brom, Derby and another prem club ( can't remember which one) are sniffing around.
As an exile, I never saw him play so cannot comment on his ability. Is he a late developer ? Did we do the right thing ?
Just curious really - having followed our lot for 40 plus years ( shudder - a reminder of my age ) have we ever let a young 'un go and then a few years later he comes good ?
There is a hint of the Commons about this ( in terms of some would say he was being a greedy git ), Geoff Nulty too (one for the older readers)- other than that I am struggling which, to be fair, is nowt new.

He's doing very well at Blackburn.
I can't blame him for leaving because he wasn't even making the bench whilst Pulis had Shotton and Walters playing down the right.
Didn't get the chance he deserved.

As he left us, he went on to have a great season and was scoring 30-35 yarders galore in the FA Cup. Then he settled down a little, but as mp says he's having a really good season. Seems to be their main creative outlet and (again) I agree that he didn't get the chance he deserved.

Didn't get the chance he deserved. He decided to move on to the Foxes ,they then moved him onto another championship club, watched him a few times for the reserves to much it and miss.I see its another go at our previous manager, why don't people forget the past and look forward.

And played very well by all accounts, even after about 12 months out. He hasn't really played much since he left Stoke, he got a bad injury after about 8 games, so until he gets a run at United the jury is out. I know he is very highly rated at Bramall Lane though.

If Pulis wanted him to stay, why the fucking hell did he play the myriad of shit on the wing that he did?
It was one of the key things that killed him here.

The thing is Bayern, I don't actually think anyone thought he was going to be the permanent answer to the wing problem, but everyone apart from Pulis and Tazi could see he was a better option than the plethora of wank he persisted with. Tazi was still suggesting that our best right back option was Lewis Buxton at this time, even though he was no longer with us. H

But he was just a kiddie, oh hang on so was Ryan Shotton I thinks other forces were at play hopefully at that time.

I saw Cuvellier was plodding around for League 1 Sheffield Utd the other night. Another world beater slips through the net 1 round from a major wembley cup final. I think 26 Stoke City players have been involved in one of those in the last 151 years.

Tazi was still suggesting that our best right back option was Lewis Buxton at this time, even though he was no longer with us. H Definitely, it was very perplexing. It was worth a shot given the options we had on both wings and if it worked then great, we have a winger, if it didn't it didn't matter. We just got by with the shit we persisted with and they all were shit.

Ben Marshall and a couple of million quid OR Brek Shea.
Pretty much the easiest no brainer in football.
How could anyone get that wrong?
