A comedy film about two people going over to North Korea to 'interview' Kim Jong-Un but they are secretly tasked to assassinate him. Looks like NK weren't happy with the film, hence the Sony Pictures hack. The hackers wrote: “The world will be full of fear. Remember the 11th of September 2001. We recommend you to keep yourself distant from the places at that time. (If your house is nearby, you’d better leave.) Whatever comes in the coming days is called by the greed of Sony Pictures Entertainment.”
Seems to be mixed opinion on this. Some say it should still be released, some say it shouldn't, some say Direct-to-DVD and some say release it online. Being North Korea I can't imagine their threats carrying any weight, with their track record of numerous threats against the US.

Sony were hacked recently by NK, and had some of their post production movies released on t'net, so to some extent, they have to take the threat seriously. That said, I can't see what a hacker could do to harm someone at the pictures...
I think Sony are milking it, it's amazing publicity and it's going to drive people into the cinemas in their droves, especially the yee ha red necks, who will not see it as their God given right to see the film.

TBH I think the idea was a pretty poor one , Kim may well be a head case but to make a film about assassinating of the head of a sovereign nation isn't on .

In hindsight perhaps they could have made up a fictitious country or unnamed country's leader similar to the likes of "True Lies", but leave viewers to make their own minds up who they were depicting. That way Sony could deny any inference to NK. Sony have been naive in the extreme IMO and now leaves all forms of broadcast under the threat of censorship by threats.

KCNA have reported NK have threatened to the USA again - "Our target is all the citadels of the US imperialists who earned the bitterest grudge of all Koreans.
"The army and people of the DPRK are fully ready to stand in confrontation with the US in all war spaces including cyber warfare space to blow up those citadels."

Amazing how many people in the news aren't mentioning that the film looks like an absolute pile of horsewank.

I though the film from the clips I saw looked quite good in quirky kind of way ....but I loved 'Elf' and Jonny English

There were no terrorist threats against the UK or FilmFour when this was made en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_a_President_(2006_film).
