Just wanted to put things into perspective regardless of yesterday's news or today's Ron Davies was in the papers and in the news as were most of the MP's, councillors couldn't tell you about as they're not that newsworthy as most people couldn't tell you the name of their local councillors just like MEP's. UKIP are getting no harder ride than any of the other parties, they claim not to be racist so if the press find out about prospective MP's who seem to be contradicting that you've got to expect a metaphorical kicking for it just like the Tories did over back to basics.

Yep, What the UKIP guy came out with on a private call was obviously going to be aired in its full glory, I accept that and so it should....Altho in my mind it's nothing different than the man in the pub comes out with jokingly in private all the time........I know I know, but it's true isn't it? you say those sick cunts in that list above were all in the news...I'll take your word for that to save argument because I know you love one ( i never saw any tho) but, compared to that ukip drongo antics (yes I think he was a tit before this story)....their crimes should have had far more exposure in comparison, and that was the reason for the thread.

The difference is the man in the pub isn't trying to put himself forward to represent the people he was joking about. I gave up arguing with you a long time ago, if I wanted to argue I'd point out I said the MP's made the news, the others I couldn't tell you about as these would be local stories about people I've never heard about rather than as you claim I said they were all on the news but as I'm not arguing I won't

Telling a joke about someone isnt neccersarily the case. If some American or indeed anyone tells a joke about me as a British person using a stereotype or similar, then I have the opportunity to counter that and the situations over. If someone whether a UK national or anyone else including a newspaper states that British people are too lazy to work then that is both discriminatory and racist. That pisses me off more than someone telling a joke, however to the point it might be. Unfortunately some cannot or dont want to seperate the two. As for standing for public office. How many of the main parties have people standing who know about the abuse of children done by their colleagues or predecessors and keep quiet.

Don't forget systematic rape and murder of children. And as much as everything is labelled as "historic". It's happening now. With the secret services involved in the cover-up.

The sheer arrogance of people like these who think they are fit for public office, they should be ashamed, but clearly aren't.
It's not a party political issue though. Unfortunately politics attracts arrogant individuals who want power and control. It's always been the same and all parties get them, as they are low on morals they are also low on ideology and will jump on the bandwagon they think is most likely to get them what they want.

For those "attracted" to politics, unfortunately, I think you'll find the vast majority of positions, particularly nearest the top, taken by those with the right Establishment credentials. House Of Commons? Don't me laugh. Orwellian double-speak at its finest. Establishment, serving Establishment corporations.
