I'm pretty sure we'll be ok, then again there ain't really three teams who you could safely say will go down.
The premier league gets tighter every year.

Looking at our equivalent results from last season (e.g Spurs 0pts last season, 3pts this season), we picked up 16 points versus the 15 we have collected this season. It's just been a bit topsy turvy with some great away results but terrible home ones. Hard to call how this season is going to go!

IMO Stoke's change in style has resulted in an inability to break down massed defences and getting caught out by losing possession when pressing forward. Other poorer teams have benefited, the way Stoke did at ManC from defending resolutely and taking their chances when they break out of their half. This message board seems to spend more time criticizing the defensive lapses than the failure of the team to miss clear cut chances and score sufficiently. For me the most lamentable part of Stoke's play this season is the inability to take advantage from set pieces. They seem to have totally lost this aspect of their play. Scores of corners have been squandered and rarely is there a threatening header. On a positive note, what's wrong with Stoke's game is fixable by training and practice, and greater concentration on the field. Just one forward hitting a streak of good scoring form could make the world of difference to Stoke's goal and points tally. On a cautionary note, I don't subscribe to the view that results can be improved necessarily by the cheque book in January. Yes swapping Kenwyn for Odemwingie last January worked a treat, but we have to be mindful that all the other teams will be looking to improve their squads as well.
