What a rubbish trailer. I thought it was a spoof at first.

I like how the SW technology hasn't evolved like it did in the prequels.
It doesn't look too CGI either

My excuse for everything being shiny in the prequels was that they were in good economic times, where as the original films were war times, think WW1 planes made from recycled ironing boards, hence the grubby X-Wings.
Also the lightsabres and droids have evolved in this, and we've only seen Tatooine which is basically the third world.

What a rubbish trailer. I thought it was a spoof at first. to be fair it's still a year before release. i'd imagine there's only a certain amount of footage to choose from that's even gone through post-production at the moment may only be snippets but it got me hard!

Loving the racist outrage on twitter from rednecks regarding the 'black stormtrooper', they're really going to shit when they realise he's the main character.

God knows what ethnic background they think Temuera Morrison has given he was the supposed origin of the original star troopers. Fucking planks the lot of them.

What a massive load of old bollocks. Any grown man who goes to the cinema to watch that shit should have his cock and balls surgically removed and sewn onto his forehead forever.

Star Wars nerd alert.....that isn't tattooine it's a new planet called Jakku, it is the location of the final battle between the empire and the rebels, hence the wreckage of the imperial star destroyer & x wing. This took place after Jedi's battle of hoth. The empire have now disbanded & become the first order & the Rebels are now called the resistance. JJ Abrams hopefully won't turn these into the Star Wars prequels?

JJ Abrams hopefully won't turn these into the Star Wars prequels? You could tell by the trailers that the prequels were going to be gash.

Even when I watch revenge of the sith (which is bearable) i think Lucas lost the plot with the prequels.

Seems to recapture the emotion and magic of the originals.
And Solo is still as cool as fuck ...

Actually dont mind the prequels they are an entirely different breed to the original trilogy but if i take each trilogy on its own merits its an enjoyable experience however I do find Attack of the Clones to be the weakest out of the 6.
Always found the mystery behind the clones to have a lacklustre climax

I was too young to remember when the original trilogy came out and I only saw it just before the prequels. I watched revenge of the sith a few times when it came out and I really enjoyed it, That said the trailer for the new set of films does seem to capture the feel of the original trilogy and thats quite exciting.

It's the closest I've come to reading a rationale behind the dusty dirty aesthetic / palette of the original trilogy being retrospectively preceded by the shiny shiny trilogy. I like your thinking '84.
