Are you on commission for Nello threads ?? People are going be sick of it soon if you keep it up The answer to your question is no I'm not. Given you feel like that, and the thread is very clearly titled, I'm surprised you took the time to open it and respond. I'm happy to give you a promise that if I start any more I will ensure that they are also clearly titled. Looking at some of the other threads on this board, I think this one and others about Neil can more than hold their own against any challenge to their relevance and interest. On the graffiti itself, Neil and I called by to see it on our way to Stoke station. He made it clear that if ( when ?? ) he ever meets the Queen, he would not think it appropriate to wear a chicken suit

Malcolm, I'm assuming you're in cahoots with Beckett on the book? Any idea when it's due out?

Please keep these coming Malcolm. Nello is an inspiration and I'm personally very proud that he comes from our wonderful area, and what an ambassador he is. There isn't a more deserving fellow of the media attention he's received thus far.

I spent a lot of time with the great man. I am not saying it like that. Nello would vouch for me to. Am saying it may get over killed . A book or graffiti will never reach the heights of marvellous, (which is on my x ma's list). Malcolm original post about graffiti has attracted less than 2 comments regarding that.
However I look forward to Xmas day for my DVD (especially as I'm losing my sky planner next week)????

Malcolm I've heard that the legend has had another award from the BBC. Please could you tell us more about it? Will it be on the television?

However I look forward to Xmas day for my DVD (especially as I'm losing my sky planner next week)???? If you are genuinely concerned about negative effects of over-publicity, newstead, a better way would have been to PM me, and we can discuss it privately or speak on the phone, rather than publicly posting a rather snide comment about commission directed at me. I've no idea who you are or your relationship with Neil, which is always the problem with anonymous usernames. In any case I was providing a link to an article written by someone else about a piece of graffiti done by someone else, and if it didn't attract much interest that rather works against your point.

That's just the point Newstead, I'm 100% certain he would vouch for you, given that he is a very positive person and prefers to see the best in everyone. Whereas a casual observer just going by your last few posts may come to a different conclusion. His unshakeable belief in the best in people is one of the main reasons his story has been so well received.

Malcolm I've heard that the legend has had another award from the BBC. Please could you tell us more about it? Will it be on the television? Correct, John. Last night I accompanied Neil to the BBC Midlands Today Sports community awards at Villa Park. I assume it will be on Midlands Today or a special programme tonight. Neil presented the most promising newcomer award, and was interviewed on stage. To Neil's surprise, we had met Lou Macari in the reception beforehand. I thought it was a little odd that Lou hadn't mentioned to Neil that he was also going, but didn't think anything of it. Towards the end, we saw Lou leave his table, and Neil commented to me that Lou was going early. In fact he was going up to the stage to present a special achievement award to Neil, which wasn't in the awards list, and which had been kept secret from Neil. So he was back on stage, this time as a recipient. Villa Park was of course a very appropriate venue for all this - the place where Lou brought Neil on for his famous Stoke appearance. Last night on stage Lou described Nello's brilliant headed goal, turned to Neil and said "that's how it happened, isn't it ? ", to which of course came the response "No" - just as in the film. There is a short clip on the Midlands Today website, and it is probably worth looking on their facebook site as well.

Its nice that someone's willing to do something like that for him, but I really wish people would find their own style rather than rip off Banksy all the time (I know, I know, he did it to someone else), it's starting to look really tacky.

I think the artwork is quite clever. Thanks for the heads up, Malcolm. I'm one of those who would have missed it had you not brought it to our attention on here. Now the artist should do one of Nello plonking himself down at Tel2u's breakfast table, waiting for his sausage, egg, bacon, beans, and a mug o' tea with three sugars. On the house, of course. M.
