We need a centre half. We need a right winger. We probably need a striker too. And I think we will get at least one of these Begovic - we may get some bids / enquiries for him? I hope not but we do have an excellent (ok inexperienced) GK waiting in the wings It's unlikely that Odemwinge will return any time soon so another striker would be great

You really are acid. Do you mean the Premiership, Clayton Wood and Academy legacy. Clayton Woods and the academy came as a necessary result of the Premiership , he left the club in debt the accounts after his departure do not lie sorry that is a fact. Keep believing your own argument, lack of respect and acknowledgement of the legacy

So we've come to firing venom at the legend and the REAL reason that we are where we are then?

Loans? We could always sell and then spend, also.

Keep believing your own argument, lack of respect and acknowledgement of the legacy No argument the Pulis legacy like a lot of legacy's has come at a massive price aka the Olympic stadium, worked in the short term however is still costing buckets full of cash in the long term, like I said the accounts do not lie simples really.

Loans? We could always sell and then spend, also. We would need to send either one of the loan players we have back to their parent club, or sell who to give us the cash to prop up the squad with the quality required which will not come cheap.

I read the "probably no money to spend" as being a bit tongue in cheek, and sparky took the opportunity to get you lot reaching for the rope and/or razor blades, and quite clearly it worked!!
As said before, why advertise your intentions for the next window, come on now, we all know how the game is played out come transfer window time.

Banbury the contra theory is
He is managing expectations now before they get out of hand and also before we take a serious drop into the very high risk zone
And or
He is putting a bit of pressure on the suits so the pressure builds before the window I suspect Mr Coates won't really appreciate this little gee up

Says Mark Hughes in this mornings sentinel When will certain people on here see the fantastic job he's doing on a shoestring budget ? I must be one of those "certain people", because I don't think he's doing a "fantastic job". Hughes has definitely improved the football from the last season and a half of dross we had under Pulis. But I definitely preferred our first season in the Prem and our Cup Final season to the tepid fare we often get now. As I've said many times, Hughes inherited possibly the best squad in the bottom half of the Prem. He's added seven attacking players (eight if you allow for the fact Sidwell scored 8 goals last season) yet we can't open up defences and we've lost the art of defending. Hughes is doing ok, that's all. Anything more is over-selling it. As for the "shoe string budget", for the Coates family to spend £20M is like a man with a tenner spending 20p.

That cup final season has been masked by the cup final Until Mid March it was utter tripe and and only improved after we beat WHU in the sf .....from that point on it was a pleasure to watch I walked out of Upton Park the week before that sf and said to those with me we were down Read the threads from back then and it will confirm it

Unbelievable jeff. Still the look in your eyes from mine at that promotion piss up was great to see which looked even better when thinking of who made that piss up so much much better.

We are only 5 points off the drop zone now so I don't think with the run of games we have to come it would be over stating the case to say it is probable we will be in the bottom 3 after if not before the Arsenal away game on January 11th.
Surely that will change everything with regard to transfer budget. The thought that wheel barrow full of Premier League bank note may shortly no longer be parked outside the Chairman's office I mean.

Why have the Coates family tightened their purse strings so much ???? They dont seem willing to allow Hughes any money since hes come Could possibly be down to the £30 million deficit left by Pulis, the £100 million spent on players on long contracts with no or very little resale value, in short without a change in manager and direction it would have been unsustainable to carry on as we were. How the hell did you get this excellent and to the point summary past the all new fuck buddy duo filter? The average poster would have been slayed by references to Wembley and accused of treason for concerning themselves with the long term health of the football club.
