Hardly a surprise really, we already knew the club wanted to be self sufficient and the best way to that is to spend less on players. Or sell some on pronto to recoup some of the money spent by the previous regime, reckon that will be the next move this legacy thing is really shit. Who...outside of Shawcross and Begovic?

Erm, Crouch- no to old, Palacios-no he is shit, Brek Shea - no he is shit, erm struggling now, you don't apparently get much value for £100 million

Just pointing out the reality of the situation he left the club in, the only two real saleable assets we have that would bring in a profit would be Ryan and Bego from the Pulis legacy, food for thought for those who thought that the Coates family should not have sacked him.

You have proof that its because of Pulis do you? Didn't think so. (Before you start, I thought it was the right time for him to go, my opinion had nothing to do with the amount of money he spent)

Are you working for the Daily Mail ? He says no major expenditure not major signings,a completely different kettle of fish. Eh.....Aren't they virtually the same thing ? No. Your thread title is misleading, hence the Daily Mail remark. Was Bojan a major signing ? Answer yes. Was he a major expense ? Answer no

Who...outside of Shawcross and Begovic? Whelan for starters maybe Wilson? Whelan is 31 in January. You'd be looking at 2M tops. Wilson only has 18 months on his deal i think and there wouldnt be many takers above 4M. We have very little re sale value in the squad.

Absolutely shambolic by the Coates Family, if they're not willing to spend the cash they're reaping in, sell the club now rather than plunging us towards relegation. I was told when Hughes signed there'd be no major funding for him to spend and its proven bang on.

Only about £30m for these two though?

We have very little re sale value in the squad. Ahh the old re-sale value argument. I've never known a group of fans so obsessed with it. You can criticise Pulis's record without it if you're so inclined. The fact is our re-sale value has been so low largely because our best buys have given us so much outstanding service and longevity.

It's as if it got us nowhere. Still, I'm heading off back to pets at home for the last hour n half to watch them fcuking hamsters go around n round n fcuking round.

My wife reminds me that I actually used a four syllable word last week. Must have been when I told her that I thought our television was fucked. I usually call it a Telly, but I must have been having one of my brighter moments.

Correct mate and one in which I posted a while ago about how Coates will spend the odd million here and the odd million there whilst banking millions upon millions until it catches up with us.

You are correct and when you need to raise funds you don't want to sell them. The idea is to buy players at good value, which doesn't automatically mean trying to do it on the cheap. So when you have to sell to raise funds you break even at the very least. I never mentioned Pulis so I don't know why you are bringing him into it.

Why have the Coates family tightened their purse strings so much ???? They dont seem willing to allow Hughes any money since hes come Could possibly be down to the £30 million deficit left by Pulis, the £100 million spent on players on long contracts with no or very little resale value, in short without a change in manager and direction it would have been unsustainable to carry on as we were. You really are acid. Do you mean the Premiership, Clayton Wood and Academy legacy.

Clayton Woods and the academy came as a necessary result of the Premiership , he left the club in debt the accounts after his departure do not lie sorry that is a fact.
