When will certain people on here see the fantastic job he's doing on a shoestring budget ?

It's fair to say the purse strings have been well and truly pulled tight since his arrival.
Doesn't look like Moses will be joining in January then.

I haven't read the article so I don't know the details of what he said but, although we didn't make any major signings in terms of fees, I'd say Odemwingie was a major signing last season. We've missed him quite a few times this season.

He wants grow a pair and tell those Etruria suits what's what then. To not buy a first team centre half in January will be gross negligence by all involved and entirely unjustifiable and indefensible.

With a bit of luck, they'll let him spend some money in the summer, I'm very surprised though.

We need another centre half, no doubt about it

I'm not sure I always believe everything some football managers say about future signings. And I don't blame them - if I was planning to sign, say, Yarmolenko, I'd keep quiet about my plans until the ink was dry on the contract. I remember after our earlier failed attempts to sign Diouf, the signing when it came, just happened without fanfare. And, as said above, the Odemwingie signing was not trailed in advance.

100% correct.
Like I said 5 years ago, Coates will get his money back one way or another.

Spot on momo and for me the games between now and the end of Jan will force the club into some transfer activity if results go as expected. If not they are playing a very risky game with the clubs premiership future Imo.

I cannot believe he is prepared to sit through January without hardly spending anything.
Its time certain members of the board realised that it can't all be done on peanuts and one day we will actually have to start spending in order to keep our top flight status.
I applaud the board for their efforts and vision up to now, but sooner or later Hughes is going to have to speak out of term to make them aware that if they want success then he will need the backing.
Bit fed up of having to do most things on the cheap purely because of past spending.

I would not believe anything said directly to the press, Stoke have always kept their dealing close to there chest. Note he has never completely said nothing will be done, he has left it quiet open to interpretation. Money is available and was so in August, but having the money and getting a club to accept our offer for a player is too different things

Plenty of bargains to be had.

Centre back is the obvious and probably only requirement.
But quality doesn't have to cost big money if you know where to look. Pieters, Muniesa, Bojan, Diouf etc are all proof of that
